I have lived here since July and will not be renewing my lease when it's up. I had a few issues when I first moved in, under old management, such as my air conditioner not working the first 2 weeks I was here (yes in JULY!) However, the staff was very curtious and helpful.

Now, since Summit took over, I have been less than impressed. They did announce that they would be removing the gates effectove Feb 1. However, they are still there, and one is partially open. If they aren't going to follow through on taking them out, the least they can do is make sure they are all the way open so as not to stick out and make people dodge around them.

The trash is a major issue. Every weekend the compactor breaks and the trash piles up all the way down the walkway. The second fitness center has not been accessible for the past few weeks and when asked about it, the staff says they can get in and don't understand why others can't. Summit also manages the billing for water and trash collection now. The first month they started this I got a bill but the second month nobody in my building got one, and therefore didn't pay it. Two weeks after they were due, we received notices at 5pm indicating that if we did not pay by 6am the next morning we would be sent to collections. When I called the property manager she was extremely rude and refused to accept responsibility. I requested another copy of the bill and a week later I have still not received it. She also said if we don't receive a bill we should call and request one. If they want their money, they should make sure they send the bills out, rather than expecting us to chase after them to beg them to ask for more money from us!

There are also a lot of dogs in the complex, and for the most part, people do not clean up after their pets. While there are stations set up where there used to be bags, these stations have not been filled since Summit took over. I never had a problem with it before they got here, and there is definitely a difference in the grounds as a result.

Snow and ice clean-up is also worse since Summit took over. Prior to their arrival, if there was a prediction of snow or ice, walkways were sanded. Since then, we were lucky if anything happened AFTER the snow or ice came. The fire hydrant in front of my building was buried in snow for 2 weeks as well. They are definitely more concerned with getting their money than providing a safe and "luxurious" environment for their residents.

What everyone else has said about noises and plumbing issues, hot water, and cheap construction is accurate. These past several months in this complex have been the final motivation I needed to decide to buy a home rather than let companies like this continue to suck our bank accounts dry with over-priced apartments and shoddy service. If you're smart, you'll consider buying as well, and putting complexes like this out of business.
