I could not get maintenance to fix the fire
alarms, (manager told me I could do it
myself even if they were 14 feet up in the
ceiling) or replace the air filter (it
finally got so clogged that it was sucked
out of its frame and was pinned up against
the radiator not letting any air through.)
Carpet was so cheap that the first couple of
times I vacuumed, the canister was full of
fiber by the time I finished one room. The
carpet was bald after six months. I often
had to park in the adjacent compound and walk
a quarter of a mile to my apartment at 2AM.
I had 10 packages (this was probably the
fault of the Post Office) that disappeared
and I was flat out lied to twice by the
people in the office. Until then, I'd live
in a box before I'd go back there.

PROOF THAT THEY ARE THIEFS - On the day I
left, I couldn't find my second set of keys.
Desparate to find them, but having to leave,
I left a note with the offer of a $100
reward. The next morning, I got a call on
my cell phone, from a Ron Wenger (the
maintenance supervisor), who said that had
seen the note and had found the keys. I
told him that I'd be happy to pay the reward
and gave him an address to send them to.
There was one part of the conversation that
didn't set right with me. When he described
the keys on the ring, he repeated the
description exactly as I had written it on
the note. The part that bothered me was
"and four or five padlock keys." Now, if I
had the keys in my hand and was describing
them, I would have counted the padlock keys
and said "and four padlock keys." Two weeks
later, he called me to check on the reward.
I told him that I hadn't received the keys
and that I wasn't going to pay a reward
until I had them in my hands. He tried to
argue that he had sent them and that I owed
him the reward. I repeated my position and
he hung up. PUNCHLINE - two weeks later,
while unpacking some computer parts, I found
the keys in a side pouch of a bag. He NEVER
had the keys. JUST ANOTHER LANDSDOWNE RIP
OFF.

THIS JUST IN -- I found this out one year
after I moved out. I just got a bill for
$2800. I got a verbal OK - yeah I know but
I didn't know what a bunch of back stabbing
a**holes these people were - to stay for one
month beyond my lease. I paid it and they
smiled, then charged me another months rent
because they started the 60 days notice
again without informing me. They also
expect to pay for the cheap (Oh, the new one
isn't going to be as cheap because I'm
paying for it.) piece of crap balding rug.
If you live there, SUCKER. If you're
thinking about, PLEASE DON`T
SUMMIT LANDSDOWNE - or what ever you're
calling yourself - BITE ME.
