Here is the truth from someone who has lived here for over 3 years.
Jessica and Jennifer have almost been here from the beginning; actually they transferred here from the Silo Creek Apartments in Ashburn where I first meet them about 4 years ago. Jessica does the Talkin?? and Jennifer does the Walkin'. Jessica's personality is usually very Upbeat a little to Upbeat she may even seem a bit flighty at times except for when she's walking her dogs early as hell in the morning. Jennifer's personality is pretty mellow but you may detect a bit of frustration behind her half smile (if she feels like smiling at that moment.) I think it's because a lot of the work and interruptions may be left on Jennifer. Unlike Jessica, Jennifer's desk is visible when you walk in to the office. As for the rest the fairly new office staff well, 85% of the time they are puzzled and confused or just flat out RUDE. The other 15% of the time see Jennifer desk as that's where you will find everyone seeking answers to your questions if you haven't already turned and ask Jen you??re darn self.
For warm welcomes see Maintenance Staff!!!
The Clubhouse and Business Office are great to have at times, No the equipment doesn't always work. Just as 1 out of the 2 computers is fixed the printer is out and as soon as the printer is back on track the fax machine goes. HELL, I never know who the heck breaks the stuff but I can tell you that management makes sure it up and running again at some point. And I tell you what, if you need the fax, or printer during business hours the staff will allow you to use theirs.
As for Parking, Yes you are NOW required to have a color coded Parking Passes visible in you car window during towing hours. One for general parking free parking, One for those who Pay for a carport and One color for those who Pay for the convenience of having a driveway/garage. And Yes Parking can be a pain in the neck if you have unexpected guests over and they wish to stay a little pass 10pm because you're worried that they might be towed. So by the time they run downstairs to move their cars outside of the main gates to visitors parking, they usually leave once they realize they have to walk back and then up to your possible 4th floor apartment (in the winter). But hey what else could management do to keep selfish tenants from parking wherever they felt like even if it meant parking in your carport or driveway causing honest paying tenants to search for parking in the wee hours of the morning. I would be pissed
I have never had a problem with any type of noise. Living on the top floor I can't complain of noisy neighbors above me. And no matter what floor you choose to live on the many different floor plans are great.
The Pools are great. They open just before schools closes for the summer and closes once school begins. My apartment over looks one of the three pools and the lifeguards always have the pools open on time. The children love going to pool. That's the only outside recreation for the children since the complex doesn't have a Tot lot or designated Playing Area.
The truth is, there is plenty of grassy areas where the children could run and play there is even a picnic and grilling area but 90% of the time you will find dog feces. This is despite the fact that we have plastic bags and Please Curb Your Dog signs everywhere. I don't know who to blame. Should we blame the staff for not picking up after the tenants pets' Or should we blame the pet owners who don??t curb their own pets' I'll let you decide.
As for the trash compactor yes it brakes maybe once a month or every other month usually over a weekend especially long weekends and major holidays like Christmas. I don??t know why but it does. And it doesn't look good when it for complex because one of the trash compactors are located in just beyond the main gate. And as much as it frustrates me to see it that way, I'm only frustrated for that brief moment as I toss my bag on to the rest of the trash and sigh a guilty sigh of relief that I didn??t have to carry the heavy trash bags that far today.
I sleep well at night regardless of the broken security gate. The apartments each came equipped with security alarm setup system. I'll tell you what I do worry about, and that is the safety of the children playing in parking lot as cars speed through. The main amenity Camden Lansdowne apartments are lacking would be a safe clean place for our children to play and a couple of speed bumps to slow the drivers down.
The entire Lansdowne area is safe. The landscape and the Golf course are beautiful. Fine schools, Great malls, 35-40 minutes outside of Washington DC. I am sure you could find better in other states maybe even other parts of VA, but if you need to or have to rent and you want to live in this surrounding area Fairway, Summit, Camden Lansdowne isn't that Damn Bad.
