I have decided not to comment on others reviews and just to focus on my own experience (what I thought these forums were for in the first place). I do think everyone has a very individual experiences, so here is mine:
Our 9-mos lease is coming to a close and we decided to renew. There are both pluses and minuses here, the same as with other apartment complexes. Here we go one by one...
PARKING:
I noticed ample parking--we never have a problem but with our garage and a space behind it, why would we' But that's what we pay for and we rarely have guests. Still, if we do, I have seen spaces to park in NEAR our building, they just aren't DIRECTLY IN FRONT. Sometimes they're around the building or near the next. It seems to fluctuate with how full the apartments are/whether its the weekend/etc. (Just what I've noticed.) So if you don't mind a 2 minute stroll you're okay. /shrug
NOISE:
It is occasionally noisy in certain areas of the complex and I think it tends to be more noisy in others. After about 8 months here, I think I live in a quieter building. We've got some dog noise, but that's about it. Dog noise is just that--dogs. In the beginning, we had some tenets living above us that had one very energetic toddler who loved to jump up and down on the floor--at 10 pm at night! The high ceilings help, but a lot of it comes down to common courtesy I suppose.
If our dog starts barking at inappropriate times (early morning, late night) we stop her. If she barks at a noise outside the building in the middle of the night, we check it out. We appreciate the "alarm" before we quiet her. We try to look at other dog noise the same way.
People/ Neighbor noise' During the day, I hear almost nothing. Mostly once the workday/school day ends. In my opinion, it's a community. Children play outside, take walks, etc. Can we hear someone above us come home' Sometimes. But hey, they here us too, don't they'
GROUNDS:
Attractive and well-kept, a nice place to walk. I actually saw all the property get re-mulched during that warm spell this Feb. My only minor complaint is with residents who don't clean up after their pets. There are pet clean up stations with bags and all. Residents just don't realize how disgusting it is to leave their dog ---- for others to take care of.
SAFETY:
Wow. This is a tough one. Especially because of the recent forced entry into one of the apartments here, which was--in all honesty--not far from our building. As far as safety, I believe this is shared responsibility of you and where you live. I have been told by staff in the office that there are 3 staff on watch at night but I haven't physically SEEN them (walking, driving around, etc.... hmm)so I cannot personally comment to that. There is a lot of outdoor lighting, yes. But I think everyone these days is rethinking what "a safe area" is wherever you live.
CONSTRUCTION:
We like the place. The layouts of apartments are nice and the high ceilings make them feel larger and are better for sound too. We would probably kill each other it if weren't for the walk-in closet. Apartments do tend to get a bit drafty.
MAINTENANCE:
We've had to ask maintenance to fix 2 things. Once fixed, great! They were really nice and the whole thing was no big deal at all. Once, we did have to call a second time to make sure it indeed got done, but I have a feeling that sits more with maintenance management and not with the main office. Just a hunch. (That second time I called...they showed up within 15 minutes.)
STAFF:
We have never had a problem with any staff member here. We prefer dealing with one staff member in particular (I won't mention them by name because it wouldn't be fair). I typically go to them with any concerns because I find them to be friendliest and most knowledgeable. However, everyone in the office has always been professional towards us and answered all questions from dog policies to transfer leases. We actually went around and looked at other apartment complexes so it's not difficult to compare levels of professionalism here and with apartment communities other places.
OVERALL:
We've had good days and bad days here. Sometimes you end up with noisy neighbors. That can spoil it, believe me. (I think we celebrated when they moved.) For the money, the location, and the convenience this place works for us. I would recommend this place to anyone who understands apartment living, some overhead noise, and a community that allows dogs :)

I am obviously not the only one that this has happened to if you read the rest of the reviews. I think you are missing the point. I happily paid the $200 to be done with the cleaning as well. That is why I was shocked when I received a bill after I had already paid the cleaning fee charging me fees for what I had already paid for! That to me is robbery and bad business. If you are happy there then more power to you. I just hope when you actually move out, and you aren't just transferring, that you don't get hit with all the superflous fees that everyone else seems to. Good luck with that!!! I also hope you aren't the next one to have your home broken into in this rapidly degrading apartment complex. Are you sure you are not management trying to justify the shoddy business practices of this complex?

I mean I lived there, I am in the process of moving out I am having difficulties, I have to clean the apartment 3 times, finally I spoke to the main manager she is really helpfull and now my case is in a pending situation there are really unplesant employees and the reverse also true. if you ask me going all this process is not necessary may be you will get the real experiance of moving out then you moved out of camden.

To "My own experience" I just wanted to thank you for your refreshingly honest and insightful review! it mirrors my own experience at C.L. you have illustrated perfectly what this site SHOULD be about. People should take heed when they have the urge to waste peoples time with the same old sobbing about "Additional Fees" "Noise" or Staff complaints which paint an unfair picture of an all around decent place to live. In case some of you are wondering; NO, I DO NOT WORK THERE. Geez!

This review is obviously written by the some at the office. Come on! Do you really believe you are getting your money's worth at CL? I guess you don't mind all the hidden fees and all the charges you will get when you move out. You will make someone at CL very happy.
