I've lived here since last November. There are pros and cons to this place, just like any other.

PRO
The management is friendly and responsive. No complaints there.
The grounds are well maintained and the apartments have been recently refurbished.
The rent is about as cheap as your going to find anywhere in the area. I have a large one bedroom apartment and I pay 880 dollars a month.
They are extremely military friendly which is the exception and not the rule around here.

CON
There's a ton of construction going on in the area which just compounds the already miserable traffic problems in the area. Some days it takes anywhere from 5-15 minutes just to get on Hwy 1 heading north.
It's very noisy here. The apartments, while spacious, are not terribly well constructed. You can hear everything going on outside (kids on scooters, loud rap, arguments, etc). If you open your window it's like being outside.
There isn't much going on in Lorton (besides construction). If you want to get a coffee, be prepared to drive.
Security...when I first moved here I'd have listed this in the PRO section, now I'm not so sure. My car has been broken into. There are loud kids, arguments and not much of a police presence.

So like I said, it's a crapshoot. If you want a nice apartment, responsive management at a low rent then this place will do you just fine. If security, or nightlife or peace and quiet are your thing you would be better served looking elsewhere.
