Be fairly warned

This complex is OK, at best. Most of the people here are courteous and pleasant. The grounds are fairly well maintained, and the problem of dog remains is being addressed.
Parking is tough, as most apartments have at least 2 vehicles, and some many more. The close proximity to grocery and other conveniences is nice. Buses for school children run a route with numerous drop-off points.
Access to the location is awkward. there is only one entrance, and the road attached is currently under demolition/construction. There is little access from I-95, but there are several way to get caught in the same traffic snarl to come home here. The area is a traffic funnel, and the complex is at the end where everything smooches together.
There is a significant problem with gang and drug influence here. It is not uncommon to see people dealing here, and occassional paraphanalia. The local PD is aware of the area. We have 2 gangs that I know of in the area, but there have been no incidents in the on the site that I know of.
There is a high military population here, due to the proximity to Fort Belvoir.
Overall, service is slow but adequate for problems on site. You are allowed to have pets up to 90 pound in certain apartments, non-aggresive breeds only. There is a pet deposit, but no pet rent.
You can decorate your apartment, and need to return it to th efashion it was in when you took over to avoid any charges.
It was the best for the rate that we saw, as we were excluded from other reasonable sized and priced apartments due to having excess income for a two income family. As with all of North VA, it is expensive to live here.
UPDATE: We have broken the lease, and are moving out. Crime is too much of a problem here. Lot's of teens, no adults supervising them. They like to use the wooden stairs by our apartment and the playground as a drinking/make-out area. They also use empty apartments, as the staff seems to be unable to secure them.
We are extremely disappointed with the management. We know of al least three assualts, and have seen the Fairfax County paddy wagon clearing out two apartments. SWAT has been here once. My wife was followed home, and the PD were not surprised when we reported the "other activities". They are aware of a drug and gang problem here. All of this, and no warnings from management.
Hell, sometimes we're lucky if the street lights are on! Two damaged covered parking areas were torn down and never replaced. Vandalism is painted over, and not very well. Maintainance has never fixed the "brand new" counter that was cracked by the sink, although it was reported several times.
Not worth the hassle or worry, at any price.
