Lets start from the beginning. I moved here from California. My family is military so we had one month of notice before we had to report to the next duty station. My husband and i made a trip out here to find a place to live. We searched and search but could not find an apartment that would allow huskies.. apparently they are vicious. So we stubled across The Woods of Fairfax in an apartment mag. We set up an appointment and met with Christina Selden, the asst. property manager. She showed us two apartments, a one bedroom and a two bedroom. We chose the two bedroom. I specifically said will this be our actual apartment or will it be one like this' She said this IS YOUR APARTMENT, with a $50 holding fee. I said great, paid the $50. I flew back to CA the next day. While I was in CA packing, I had to keep calling her to check on the progress of the paperwork. She didn't call me once. So finally she tells me everything is set to go, she just has to double check some small stuff. Well finally I call her after two days and she sends me an email saying the apartment I paid to hold is not available... hmm. That's what the $50 was for right' Yes, and she says that she's going to apply that $50 to hold another apartment... I, knowing that I've only got a few weeks until I move across country, accept the changes. I knew I would never find another apartment in time that would accept my dog. I went over all of the details with her numerous times. The rent amount, the discount, the amenities, the deposits, the pet rent, the washer/dryer. Everything besides the actual apartment was fine. So I tell her what day and time to expect me to be at their office to accept keys and move in. She says great, see you then. Well the date rolls around and we get to our appointment and sure enough, the forgot all about us. o dear... so they take us to the apartment, NO ELECTRIC, NO WASHER, NO DRYER, so that means after driving nonstop to get here, I couldn't even take a shower. I sat here in the dark with nothing but cold water for three days. I call the office, they say they will call me back, nothing... No calls. So I call them again, and guess what, they say they dont have my phone number. WHAT'! AND they tell me that I can use the on site laundry mat. Now why would i be paying rent to have a washer/dryer in my home just to go to the disgusting laundry mat' I filled out a rental app, you did a credit check and a backround check. How could you rent to someone who you don't even have a phone number for... Well they took $136 off my rent to pay for my inconviences... Yeah right. So then I decided that we are moving to Base Housing, No more drama right' WRONG! My lease clearly said that I could move out with no penalty if going to base housing, but no, they just don't accept it and I had to pay an early termination fee. Which I will gladly pay to get these people away from me and out of my life. They are full of nothing but lies, lies, lies. If I could give NO STARS, i would.
