Objective Review

Years at this apartment: 2003 - 2004
I have lived here for the past year, so I thought I'd post an objective review of this apartment complex.
The apartments themselves are roomy and comfortable. The closets are large and have plenty of space. Most of the people around that I have met are friendly and greet you with a friendly "hello."
Before I continue on with some of the negatives I have experiences, I just want to say that Chatsworth Park is the nicest apartment complex I have lived in. As with any apartment, there are going to be positives and negatives.
One of the problems with this complex is that it really doesn't have a place for children to play, so they play in the parking lots. They ride their bikes, play football, etc. while cars are coming and going, and with parked cars right next to them. I had a nice little scratch down the side of my vehicle from a kid riding his bike near my car and dragging the handle bars down the side. Also, someone thought it would be a good idea to buy their kid a paintball gun, and I ended up with a huge spattering of paint on my porch outside, which I ended up cleaning up after reporting it to the office. That problem probably resolved itself (the people moved out).
I did have to call maintenance one day because I thought I smelled some gas in my apartment. They came right out and checked it out for me.
Each building has its own "secure access," so you have to type in a series of numbers to get into your building, or have someone buzz you in. Last summer, a storm damaged some of the secure access devices, and our apartment phone numbers for people to get buzzed in on weren't reprogrammed for many months.
The car wash area is a nice feature, but it is always full of people, so I hardly get the opportunity to use it.
The location is nice. Minutes to 66, and there's a grocery store right up the street. But the complex is still kind of "by itself," so you aren't right in the middle of everything.
The fitness center is nice, and is open 24hrs. It has TVs and a stereo to listen to while working out.
The pool is also nice and, while there are usually quite a few kids splashing around there, I didn't really have a problem when I came home from work and wanted to take a relaxing dip in the pool.
I would definitely recommend this place.
