Glad to be Going

CP started out a fine community; two ownership changes later, it's seriously degraded. Maintenance is poor and unresponsive on a good day: it took three trips (and three corresponding floods from the locked utility room) to figure out a seal needed to be replaced (their first solution' A bucket to catch the drips.) Their answer to a strong natural gas smell in the common hallway' Prop open the front door. (Fortunately, Washington Gas found the elderly neighbor who had left the gas on and didn't know it.) Rule enforcement by management is non-existant. Overall, management isn't especially professional (I watched the property manager make a face behind the back of a resident who'd come in to discuss repairs after a water leak in HIS apartment, when he was walking away; I figure she didn't know he was my neighbor). In general, leaking water is a common problem; I personally know three other renters who had this issue with the locked utility closet, and had subsequent hassles from management about correcting water damage. (Note - rating reflects that general office staff is helpful and courteous, but I'd rather not deal with the property manager). Ferral cats (and people feeding them) are a persistant problem. I really used to love the place, but now I can't wait for the moving van.
