PLEASE NOTE: THIS APPLIES TO COVERSTONE I APARTMENTS. COVERSTONE IV (UP THE ROAD) IS A DIFFERENT COMPLEX, AND (SO I'M TOLD) HAS WORSE TROUBLE WITH GANGS, ETC. I HAVEN'T SEEN ANY OF THE GANGS OR HOOKERS LISTED IN THE OTHER REVIEWS OF COVERSTONE I, BUT THAT DOESN'T MEAN THEY DON'T EXIST.
I lived at Coverstone for seven years and moving out was one of the best things I?ve ever done. Over the years it just kept getting worse and worse. The grounds and buildings used to be very well-kept and that?s no longer the case. Management ignores major maintenance requests. When a leak in the A/C unit caused water damage in my bedroom and living room (for the second year in a row), it took over TWO MONTHS and a letter to County Housing before they fixed it... by which point I had mold and more growing out of the bedroom floor. Loud neighbors are a constant, with screaming children running up and down the stairwells. More and more of them don?t speak English anyway; as a white male I was definitely in the minority. Parking is inadequate for the number of cars they have, and the cars parked on the street make it almost impossible to see oncoming traffic. Even moving out was a nightmare. The maintenance crews who watched me and the movers said I had made a good decision, and then I had to fight the management company for three months to get my security deposit back. They never painted while I lived there and yet they tried to charge me for painting and new blinds among other things. Coverstone?s general policy seems to be one of "ignore the problem and hope it will go away." I?m glad I decided to move out of there.

Funny that this was posted in 2003, yet in 2008 the same problems continue to exist! STAY AWAY! GO! MOVE! the area has grown worse is that is even possible!
