So far, no complaints

Well, I have been here only about 2 weeks but so far, I can't complain about too much of anything.

I did my initial search on the web and of all of the apartments in Manassas, the pics of this place looked the best. Granted, that is often very decieving but I usually weed out the very worst looking places and then work my way from the top of my list down until I find something that I like.

The first time I came by, I was happy to see that the grounds were well kept. The buildings were nice looking and there wasn't any trash in the parking lot or on the sidewalks, it was just a generally nice looking place. The office wasn't luxuriously appointed by any means, but it was nice and tidy. Julie, the Assistant Manager if I'm not mistaken, greeted me and took me though the application process as well as the other mundane business associated with renting an apartment. She was more than pleasant to deal with and I felt I really didn't need to look anywhere else. The next time I came in, I dealt with Alicia who I believe is a Leasing Agent or whatever this management company happens to call them. She was EXTREMELY pleasant to deal with, completed the rest of my application process, and generally took care of the rest of the odds and ends needed to get me into my apartment.

When I got here, my apartment had encountered some sort of leak, I assume from the water heater since this apartment was the model prior to my moving in and it had been off for some time. They had a blower in the first bedroom and the padding had been removed. This made moving my stuff in a bit annoying but hardly as annoying as if they had just left the room filled with water. They told me the room would need to be empty with the blower until the following Monday (I moved in on a Friday) and then they'd take it out and fix the carpet, which they did.

Other issues my apartment had when I moved in included extremely poor water pressure, hot water that was more like warm water, a broken garbage disposal, and a dryer that sounded like a 400 lbs. hamster running in a hamster wheel. I delivered my list of issues and my apartment pre-inspection list to them on a Wednesday and by Friday, everything was fixed.

The tenants in the complex seem to be quite varied in race and lifestyle. I've seen a lot of younger people in the early 20's and a several full families as well. This is the kind of neighborhood I prefer. Any time I have lived in an area where any one race is predominant (including my own) there seems to be a lot more problems and --------.

I've seen a lot of kids walking around outside, none of them have looked particularly sketchy. I can't speak in regards to any vandalism that has or hasn't happened here in the past, but so far as kids playing outside unsupervised....that's what kids do. They go outside and they play, and 90% of the time an adult is not going to follow them around to supervise. I'm pretty sure that's been the case since, I don't know, ever' None of them have been rude so far, no dirty looks, nothing.

There is a ton of parking, I've never gotten a bad spot even in the early hours of the morning. They are fairly strict with the rules regarding parking stickers and visitor parking, but from past experience that is a relatively effective way to keep unwanted traffic out of neighborhoods where it doesn't belong, not that I can imagine this place being in terrible need of it.

Anyway, in summary, the place is pretty nice really. The apartments aren't huge but they're fairly large and big enough for my personal needs. The rent isn't cheap but it's not excessive either. I moved here from Maryland and I challange anyone to go there and find a place this nice for even 1 1/2 times the rent. I wish you luck. There are no bugs, save a few spiders from the woods that seem to be leaving now that someone lives here, and the people complaining about the complex generally can't even type in coherent and/or grammatically correct sentences....what's not to like'
