I have lived in Masons Keepe for a year now and could not ask for a better place to live. I love the fact that this is a gated community due to being a single, young lady.

I have read some of the comments about the management and could not believe what was said. Tara and Robert are incredible people with HUGE hearts that have been nothing but wonderful to me through some difficult situation that I have found myself in overe the past year. They have offered to help with keeping me safe and doing small things, like bringing in my mail when they knew I could be gone for a few days. They also offer this to all residents and they will also have maintenance come into your apartment and help you hang picture, curtains and whatever else you may need help with!

As well, I had an emergency issue one night with someone's car alarm going off and it was taken care of immediately! There are many REALLY great people who rent here and I have enjoyed my time being a resident. If my grandfather didn't need my help, I would still be living here.....

If I find myself needing an apartment again, Masons Keepe will be my first choice! This is a quiet, clean, friendly and safe community. If you choose this community, you simply can't go wrong!

I beg to differ with your comments on Tara. I've never had anything but a harsh, cold, unfriendliness from her. Memorial Day at the pool there was a rather rowdy bunch of people who were obviously drinking. Most of the people there on the other side of the pool were rather disgusted with their loudness and disrespect. We complained to the lifeguard who did nothing. One of the residents called the cops who showed up about 20 minutes later. We found out that they were friends of Tara's who were allowed to carry on that way. Also I was 51 minutes late in getting my rent to them recently due to an sick pet that had to be taken to the vet ASAP and died that day. She came running out to tell me she would not accept my check because it was late. I'd never been late the 11 months I've lived here and there was no leinancy with her. I went above her to a lady in the main office in Maryland who was willing to help. Also the office has been told numerous times of the teens in my complex who have been smoking pot and selling drugs from here to someone on Bannerwood in cars. They hang out here everynight/afternoon with pot smells making their way up to my balcony. Often there are 12 or more hanging out in the parking lot. The cops have been called twice and as soon as they showed up they all took off for the hills. The lights are also out in the building that face the parking lot which makes it even easier for them to do whatever they are doing. They sit in the cars for hours with people come up to them handing things through the windows.

I was actually at the pool last Memorial Day when this incident happened...My solution was that I had been there all day anyways and these people were having fun! I left before the language and hard partying happened, but heard about it the next day when I was at the pool, and not because I wanted to know, but because the people who were kicked out came back in. I tend to stay away from drama so I really had, and still have, no opinion on the matter...If those individuals were using foul language and being irresponsible with themselves and other people, I hold them responsible for that behavior exclusively! I do know that Tara and the staff at Mason's Keepe were swift to resolve this issue and placed rules in effect immediately to curb this type of behavior...To my knowledge and experience, it has never happened again! As far as the teens...I brought these issues up to office and because these things were happening after hours, there really wasn't much the staff could do about it. However, they did make a suggestion that to help them and my neighbors with this issue that I call the non-emergency number for the Prince William County Police when I saw these teens participating in this type of behavior...I did that very same thing and those teens were arrested right outside of my apartment building and later served notices NEVER to return to the premises again! I have NOT seen these teens in the community since that night. Just like anywhere else, there is NO perfect place to live and we ALL have to take the initiative to make our neighborhoods safer. If we don't and we wait for others to do it for us we will always live in disappointment! I choose to be proactive and to do what is within my power to make my environment positive. If you witness illegal behavior it is your right and duty as a citizen of the United States to call the proper authorities and report it immediately! I did call and my environment is now safer...If someone else sat back and did nothing but complain to someone else about it, shame on them! As for the lights in the front of the buildings...Mine shine so bright that it isn't funny and as soon as I let them know mine were out, they fixed them! Again...PROACTIVE!!!! It is all what you make of it. If you have a positive attitude and are willing to do your part, this is great place to be! You can't expect people to know things when they aren't on the property when it is dark, so they aren't going to know that the lights are out or that people are doing things they aren't supposed to do unless you tell them. No one is psychic so it all comes down to the basics...Communication, motivation and being proactive! I just signed another lease for a year...I have been here since July 16, 2005!
