Welcome to the ghetto

If having more than 2 minutes of peace and quiet a day is important to you, this is the wrong complex. The walls are unbelievably thin, and the residents are extremely uncooperative when it comes to respecting other people. The walls are so thin that every time a phone rings in a neighboring apartment, I can hear it. I am surrounded by people who blast their music at all hours of the day and night, throw loud parties on weeknights, and have arguments in the hallway. Any time that I have ever asked a neighbor to lower his/her music, the response has been profanity, threats, and louder music. The entire complex, including the parking lot, stairwells, and grounds, is littered with trash that the residents are stupid enough to throw in their own yards. Everybody here has a dog, but many people neglect the leash law. My dog has been attacked in the parking lot twice by other dogs that were not on leashes. One of them was a Pitbull (even though Tanglewood says that they don't allow Pitbulls in the complex). No action was ever taken by the management to resolve the problem. Nor does management lift a finger to do anything about noise complaints. Maintenance is slow and ineffective. The windows leak, and when it snows, water runs inside the windows, inside the walls (the seams in the drywall are split), and under the carpet. My bedroom was completely flooded and maintenance's solution was to bring me extra towels. Nothing more was ever done. Silverfish are another problem that you just have to learn to live with here. The apartments are infested with them and no attempt has been made to exterminate them. $900 a month for a one bedroom apartment may be inexpensive for this area, but it should still be enough to buy some respect from the management.
