I have lived in many apartments and if this is your first time renting get used there being some problems. It may not be major it may be major.

Tanglewood staff not all of them are great. But then there are good people that work here. And if you talk to them they are willing to work with you. Work with you even with the rent being late, but you have to tell them before hand. They have a new property manager currently I haven't meet him. However the person the supports him is the assistant property manager who is an asset to this community ( my opinion).

Tangelwood is working on fixing and upgrading things but like in everything it doesn't happen over night. I wish it could be like "while you are out" or one of those TV shows but unfortunately this is real life.

The parking is not enforced so yeah there is sometime a parking problem FIRST COME FIRST SERVE. Now tell me those of you that have a problem with parking and if parking where enforced your guest that come over would have to park far away. Again FIRST COME FIRST SERVE.

The grounds is maintained but then there are people that walk there dogs and don't pick up after themselves. It is VA law to pick up after your dog people. And it is against the law to litter so don't complain if the maintenance doesn't clean up after you quickly. I am sure you are an adult clean up after your self!

The apartments are very spacious depending on what layout you get. The second bedroom is smaller than the master. But that is why it is called a master bedroom. The living room is large compared to Chatsworth (lived there) and Raven crest (visited there) so you have plenty of room to play with.

When I first moved in I had a small roach problem, with a couple of exterminator visits it cleared up. I see one every three months or more, what are called traveling roaches. Now if you have an exterminator coming to you apartment and nothing is happening you are still see roaches then take a look at yourself. Are you cleaning up your apartment' Taking out the trash' Do you have pets and leave the food out over night' What I am trying to stay if you want the roaches to stop then you are going to have to change you habits! If you ever owned a home or lived in a house you know there are centipedes and water bugs etc. You can call the exterminator for that, those bugs come as the weather gets warmer regardless what you do.

Yeah you pay for what you get for the size of the apartment that it comes with, as far as having a washer and dry in unit, depending on the market you are paying a lot cheaper here compared to competitions out there. The property is older than Chatsworth and Ravens Crest. So it does need some TLC inside, the outside was already done last year so they are trying.


You have all the shopping areas near by that you can walk to. How gas is going up that is helpful and great exercise. You have the bus down the street to take you to a metro station, Costco on the corner medical offices, shoppers, Ross, Michael's etc.


What I look for in apartments is location, amenities (washer dryer, Gym, pool, etc.), price, square footage, how many bathrooms and bedrooms. I look at this so I know my family and I are safe, happy and comfortable. No one said you will be living here for the rest of your life but you do want to live comfortable and you want convenience.

I have no regrets on moving into Tanglewood. You have the option to use them to buy your house or condo in the future so that is a added plus. A small percentage of your rent goes to your future. Everyone has there own need, so tour see what you like and what you can afford. At this time Tanglewood is a good place to call home.

HaHa... You can't even write a good article about this place without saying something negative. Tanglewood is great but I had a roach problem when I first moved in. Parking is first come, first served (like this was some kinda restaurant).. get it in your head, we PAY for residency! That means we take priority then your visitors who PAY nothing. The grounds are well maintained but people don't pick up after themselves. Gimme a break!! Tanglewood Sux. Tell it like it is.

I like how you just ASSUME that the people who are making these complaints are the same people who litter, don't pick up after their dogs, don't clean their kitchen or take out the trash, and pay their rent late. Do you really think those people care enough about their apartment to come on here and write a review? Come on. I don't think so. The people who come on here and write reviews and add their complaints are the people who DO care about where they live, keep it clean, and pay their rent on time. So, get off your high horse and quit pointing the finger at the wrong man. This place sucks.
