Tanglewood

 

I moved here back in december, and so far my experience has been ok.

I live in a one bedroom, the livingroom has a lot of space, I have a lare TV, couch, loveseat, and chair, and they all seem to fit comfortably with room to spare.

The extra area for the dining room is not very big, but I just use it as a reading area, the kitchen is a very nice size.

The only thing that I have to complain about is there are only 3 drawers, but I make due.

And there is like a little bar area so I dont even need a kitchen table, I just use bar stools and the counter space.

My bedroom is a good size, I have a full size bed, 2 dressers a night stand and a pretty big computer desk that all seem to fit well, also includes two nice sized closets.

Its a little cramped but I make due.

The worst part is the heating bill, I live on the first floor and over the winter my bill was $450 (due to the new HVAC systems that they just put in) and the whole apartment is less than 900 sq feet.

The leasing office offered no help explaining why this was, I had to go down to NOVEC and demand to speak with someone, who then told me it was b/c of the new system.

Also I have a problem with the leasing dept.

when I first moved here I had a problem with my checking account where I had fraud so I had to close out the account and in turn had one retured check and let them know that I had to close my account and wrote them a new check on the same day, also paid $80 in returned check fees and the $150 late fee.

So three months later they call me on the last day rent can be turned in (when I have already turned in my check) and tell me that I now need to have a money order or cashiers check everymonth and they will no longer accept personal checks anymore.

All in all the apartment is pretty nice, It is true that no one picks up after their dogs.

I have one dog and always pick up after her, but there is constantly big piles of dog poop everywhere.

The best part about the place is that they accept dogs of any size, which is good for me since my dog weights 40 pounds.
