We lived in the 2Br/1Ba for 6 months after relocating to Manassas. We were primarily concerned with price when searching for an apartment, and this was one of the lowest in Manassas.
We liked the fact that we could get a 2Br/1Ba here for same/less than Ravens Crest or others that were only 1Br/1Ba. MBr is spacious and has a large closet with extra vanity/sink outside the bathroom so two can get ready at the same time. Yes the 2nd Br is small but nice for an office, we even fit a queen air mattress in there.
Exterior of buildings looks decent from afar, although the older lighting and painted black doors were a bit of a turnoff, though not a deal breaker. A bit drafty (can hear wind blowing on windows/sliding door) though the stairway up to your apartment is only open on one side unlike Raves Crest which is open on both sides, so the wind won't howl through as much. Yes lots of dog poo in the common areas but that is the fault of the owners that won't pick up after their pets.. they have installed poo bag stations at a few locations so that may help. Cherry blossom (and white blossom) trees are beautiful in the spring, pine and other trees are nice throughout the complex, noise from Sudley Manor (sirens!) can be bothersome. Parking is more than adequate, never had an issue finding an open spot, ample visitor spaces.
Appliances are a mixed bag in terms of age, we got lucky and had new dishwasher/fridge/washer dryer, range and hood were old but work fine. W/D are stacked so small but work fine.
Office staff is helpful and accommodating, nice to talk with. Maintenance is helpful and prompt, they guarantee 2 days to fix and we always had it done the next day, this was nice.
Only reason we decided to leave was we wanted a townhome with a yard and a bit more private space.. Tanglewood is a great contender.

I will be new to the area and based on what I read, I believe I am going to take a shot at it. If you read the reviews on Rosemary and Carlyle you find the same problems, then when I read about Brentwood I said: no way. There is a guy named Breezway that keeps dissing reviews and said that there was ghetto trash here......but I also look back on his postings and noticed that he has lived there for 4 years (Wow) I have never lived in an apartment for 4 years, Either things are not as bad as he says they are or He really likes it here. I am also going to check out home depot for things I can put on the windows and doors to help insulation problems like replaceing the weatherstrips and etc.
