I have lived in Westgate for a year now and have liked it so much that I have renewed my lease. let's be realistic, unless you live in the middle of the country, there are always going to be problems, whether you rent or own your home. This is actually one of the safer areas in Manassas area; I did a police background check before I moved in AND before I renewed (anyone can do this, by the you have the right to that information). There are no gangs here and that is a huge plus in NOVA. Crime is everywhere, but Westgate has NO violent crimes (i.e. rape, murder, assualt). I have lived in New York City, Fairfax, and here in Manassas and this is by far the best. People need to suck it up and realize that we don't live in a perfect world. More than that, there is a neighborhood watch here. People want to complain, but not do anything about the problem. If you want a crime free place, move to Iowa.
As far as maintanence, I have never had an issue. I call in the morning and it is done by that evening when I come home from work. My apartment is clean, there are no pests, and my neighbors are friendly. Sometimes there is noise, but what do you expect when you live in an apartment' if you wasnt silence, get a house. I have never had a parking problem, had my apartment entered without my prior knowledge (which is illegal by the way), or experienced anything out of the ordinary for NOVA. When there was a gas leak in the middle of the night, maintanence was here in 10 minutes flat, if that isn't dedication I don't know what is. Yes, there are nicer places, but when you compare all the pros and cons, Westgat ranks extremely high
