I have lived here 5 years. The rent is lower than most in the general area, rent increases are fair,and they do make all repairs ASAP ("stay for the service" is their motto).

My problem is with the repairs and safety.

I have had water leaks from the rooms above me almost every year since I moved in. Also, if you value your privacy (which I do) the walls are like paper. Reminds me of "Archy Bunker" you can hear the toilets flushing, air conditioner, and water running in the apartments above and below you--not to mention the neighbor's fighting or talking! Not my idea of home! Has no one heard of soundproofing apartments in Manassas' The trash trucks wake you up early on weekends, and they mow the lawn early in the morning. If are a light sleeper (and people above you stay up late), work nights, or go to bed late--you will be sleep deprived! I was a walking zombie for several years. Couldn't concentrate at work because of lack of sleep. Still a problem for me.

They do not have sprinkler systems--only fire alarms in rooms and carbon monoxide detectors. I often hear the fire trucks come to my complex--more so around Christmas. So far nothing major in the way of fires, but get insurance for your apartment/belongings if you move in. Also, just found out someone was breaking into automobiles and stealing stuff from a neighbor. Saw police here several times, one was a shooting a few years back. They have a neighborhood watch program, but I don't know how effective that is.

Also, I am not sure of the last time was when the air conditioning ducts have been cleaned--not since I have been here. I worry about the air quality of the air I breathe here. I have a studio apartment and if I could afford to move I would!
