Avalon Crescent

My boyfriend and I lived here for a year and overall we recommend. It is a great location (if you work in Tysons or in the proximity -- the commute to DC is a nightmare unless you HOV) and it accessible to the malls, Reston, etc. Also, the apartments are nice, LOVE the kitchens and my big bathtub. rent is high, but the region is high so it's comparable to most. Neighbors were quite and considerate, mostly young people which is fun for us.

Here are some negatives, however:
1) Parking: we had 2 parking passes since we had 2 people on the lease, but don't plan to have friends over as there is NO visitor parking (the designated spots are not sufficient for a community this size and are often hogged by residentrs/visitors who stay FOREVER.) We had frienbds refuse to come as they had so much trouhle parkig, even on the street/outside the gate. I wish they woudl enforce parking more, howvere as some people just park old cars, motorcycles in spaces and don't more them FOR MONTHS!!!!

2) Snow remnoval was slow at times, but other time was quite speedy so it's hard to give it a bad review.

3) The gym is small and half the time stuff is broken but then again, gyms in apartment complexes aren't usually top if the line anyhow.

4) Gate sceurity is non-existent -- gates seem to always be open during rush hour and on weekends so people can just cruise in, never had any problem with crime, however so we knows if gates are even necessary. Also, Ihate that they charge you for a remote to get in the back gate, that's just greedy and shoudl be given to all as a conveninec and so the front gate does not get back logged as it does at times.

Overall, we liked the location, the property is nice, pool is fun and if we still lived in the area we would still be there. Just know going in that no place is perfect and deal with the parking, etc.
