Stay Away! not worth the money.

I've been living at this place since April 2005 and can't wait to get out. The rent is 1871 for a 2 bedroom 2 bath townhouse, but that is actually due to a special of 2 months free - regularly the rent is 2241. I just got a letter today that the rent will be 2334 for next year... time to get out of this terrible place.
Here is the good:
-Convenient location

Here is the bad:
-As mentioned in other posts, some in the office staff are arrogant and unhelpful, however a couple do actually try.

-The gate does not work during rain, snow, and sometimes even wind. During these times, the gate is kept open, and usually does not get closed for a while; even if the weather is good...

-For a 300 amenities fee per year, the gym is not that great. No free weights, equipment isn't maintained like at regular gyms, and a bunch of kids who don't even live in the community pack in the basketball court, so don't expect much play time.

-The townhouses have a one car garage with a driveway that holds another car. I thought this would be ok, but its a headache to keep moving the car on the driveway to take the other out. Would work well if the person on the driveway always left before hand, but not always the case.

-The shrubs around the garages are not maintained properly which becomes a pain when parking on the driveway (car doors can get scratched up)

-The lower and main levels are very poorly insulated. You can turn the heat up all the way - the top bedroom level will burn up, but the main level will be freezing.

-The facets and appliances are extremely cheap for a 2000 /mo. place

-The floors squeak all over the place

-The windows take almost two people to open

-The water boiler must be only like 20 gallons, because after 2-3min you only get cold water

-When you receive a package too large for the mailbox, it will go to the office... well the office does not notify you that they have your package, so if your not expecting it, it will sit there.

-The area to put your garbage is quite far from some of the houses, so you would probably want to live closer to it, if you can stand the smell...

When paying the amount of money I've paid at Avalon Crescent, I'd expect a very nice, luxurious, well maintained place to live. I understand it's impossible to be perfect, however, I know many other communities can offer a better value for the price that exist around this same location or not too far away.
