We had signed a 1 year lease, but after 4 months broke it and moved out. We were with a private landlord and there was nothing but problem after problem. There was a rat infestation, the fire alarm going off, 2 floods in 2 months, the carpet was pulling up and our landlord had the same guy come in to fix each problem, which he never seemed to do. We were without a shower for a total 4 weeks and I developed breathing problems because of the mold in the rotting bathroom.

We had our own contractor come in after the problems weren't fixed and the plumbing and electrical were not only up to code, but he thought the electrical posed a serious fire hazard. But the landlord didn't want to spend the money to fix it.

The condo management were nice and helpful and the grounds were well kept, however, the insides of the buildings were very dated, dirty carpet and peeling wall paper.

On the day we moved out, the ceiling of the garage they had just put back on after the rat infestation collapsed due to a burst water heater.

If you're a renter, and are thinking about living there, stay away from building 9 (7700 Tremayne Place) and consider going elsewhere. Don't even consider a private landlord in the Colonies.
