Rename this place ROACH PALACE apartments

I guess I should have taken the hint when my roommate and I first signed the lease w/ dolley madison and we had an addendum attached indicating that our particular complex had to be sprayed for a roach infestation. The rep told us this was limited to just 2 complexes on the property, and that after this spray, they would rid the problem forever.
Unfortunatley they were wrong -- over the course of the 13 months spent there, we had 6 more sprayings. Some of these were our personal request, while others were b/c so many people were complaining in the develpment. These things were EVERYWHERE, so if you are squeamish -- stay away
Other highlights of my time there included:
a terrible smell that always lingered in the common areas
the nightly occurance of someone either above, below or beside our apartment having loud, sweaty sex. B/c of the quality construction, this would literally shake the furniture in my place at times, and sounded like it was happening just feet away from me
someones car being stolen, GTA style (management didnt bother to take down the hand-made notes asking for info for nearly a month -- you'd think they sweep those problems under the rug)
i also constantly feared that the ceiling above my head would cave in. partially b/c i could hear every step the guy above me took, and mostly b/c when we asked managment to fix the gaping cracks above our doorways -- they'd simply paint over them rather than fix the structural problems.
the "new" appliances were obviously from the late 80's at best...and the dishwasher literally came out of the cabinet stucture if you pulled the door the wrong way.
i chose to live at this place b/c i was a single guy who didnt have a load of cash to drop for living in the DC area, and i worked down the street in mclean. since i wasnt looking for anything fancy, this place fit the bill -- otherwise, i'd stay away.
overall, i think the hand-made sign posted outside the apartments pool sums up dolley madison's class pretty well:
"please dont enter the water if you have OR have had diarrhea in the last 2 weeks"
yikes....
