Needless to say, one cannot expect absolute perfection in apartment living. Here is what I've found to be the pros and cons while living here for the past year
Pros
* Great location, really convenient to the highways, shopping, grocery stores, etc
* Never had a problem with parking; guest parking is inconvenient but not impossible
* Grounds are well maintained
* Maintenance has been quick to fix the minor problems we have had
Cons
* These are old buildings. Hence, I can hear EVERY step of my upstairs neighbors. The ceiling in the living room actuall moves if you push on it and pieces of drywall have fallen out of it from activity in the apartment above us. And the thing is, it's not that the neighbors were exceptionally noisy, the buildings are just really old and have basically no insulation between floors.
* Cars often use Kennedy Drive as a shortcut and go speeding through there with no regard to people walking or pulling out of parking spots
* The heating/AC system in our apartment is somewhat wonky, it gets very hot very fast and is hard to control.
For the McLean area, these apartments are the closest thing to a deal. But if you're sensitive to noise from your neighbors, be sure you're on the top floor or go elsewhere!

You must be the noisy neighbor.
