My roommate and I moved into the Gates in November 2002 and were pretty satisified at the time.

Unfortunately we had no idea they were converting the complex to condos and by January were told that we would have the option to buy our unit.

Since the new management group took over in January/February, things have gone downhill. Renovations that have been an inconvenience to people, as well as what they think is beautifying the property but making it worse.

All of the problems that other posts have stated are true. Ant problems, mold around windows, noise from neighbors upstairs as well as on both sides of the units, the list goes on and on.

When we finally got our offer letter in May, with our "discount", our draws dropped to the ground.

After living in this complex, I would not recommend ANYONE to purchase here. It's not worth the money. There are many other complexes in the area that are cheaper and nicer.

I eventually ended up buying a 1 br/1 ba condo in the West Falls Church area for more than $40k less than what they were offering, not to mention my new condo is over 100 sq ft. larger.
