I rented a 2BR/2BA on the first floor via Craigslist. There are lots of people who rent here - I know people who own several units and rent them out. I was very happy in my time here. If you prefer being close to work over being within walking distance of bars you will like it here.
PROS:
-Fairly Quiet
-Very nice neighbors, although people generally keep to themselves
-No bug problems and they will spray if you need it
-Cheap rent ($1700/mo for 2BR/2BA)
-Very close to work if you work in McLean (BAH, Capitol One, SAIC, BearingPoint, etc)
-W/D in unit
CONS:
-Parking can be tricky if you have 2 cars since you get one reserved spot. It usually is only an issue after 7PM and on weekends. You can purchase a garage spot for $250/mo or so.
-Nearest metro is 3 miles away, although you can take a bus. They are building a new metro station but it won't be finished for a while
-Construction in the area for the metro and hotlanes won't be done until 2013 or so
-Nothing to do in McLean for a young professional. But you can be in DC or Arlington in less than 20 minutes.
