Grossly negligent, unprofessional & sneaky

What started out as a nice experience went downhill soon after the majority of the property has been sold to the Fountains of McLean and the Lincoln at Tysons had to downsize, both on the management and maintenance side. As some of the brightest and more professional people on the staff have left, we were stuck to deal with a bunch of aloof, poorly trained and negligent people who do not even know how to spell right. Soon after we moved into our second apartment there, we had a major accident due to the serious negligence in maintenance. A giant metal plate covering the piping system of the a/c unit located in the bathroom ceiling above the sink (some units have it above the bathtub), fell down on my husband?s foot (after a lousy mid-night maintenance job) and slashed it across, as the gushing water forced the plate down onto the floor with a massive force. After 4 hours in the emergency room, 12 stitches and 3 weeks on crutches, we confronted the management with a list of pain and suffering dues which they settled promptly to avoid a lawsuit (in a retrospect, we should have been less mellow and exercised our rights fully in the court of law).
Do not buy into what the leasing contract tells you about your pet fees. In additional to the $25 monthly fee, they make you pay another $400 at the move-in, which is supposed to protect them against any damages that your pet may do to the unit, including deodorizing the apartment or cleaning it for future residents who may have allergies (at least this is what they tell you at the sign-off). In reality, they make you pay an additional $100 at the move-out, the so called "after-pet-carpet-cleaning", even if you have the cleanest, most house-broken pet in the whole world and even if you leave your apartment and carpet spotless at the move-out. To the question what was the $400 non-refundable deposit paid for, the management tells you (after a long contemplating pause) that it is used to keep the plastic bags for the pet waste readily available on the property grounds...Never mind that you have a tiny cat that has never even been outside it its life!...Cash-stripped, this is where they derive their apartment turnover resources from. Very sneaky, indeed!
Do not be flattered by the invitations to the monthly Sunday brunches and occasional parties hosted by the Lincoln at Tysons. They will feed you a bunch of stale croissants, fatty fried chicken from the Popeyes, scary looking fried fish and carb-o-lishes mashed potatoes with a good helping of butter gravy. Bon appetite and healthy awakening the next morning!
Do not count on the internet connection or the last minute PC work in the Business Center. The connection is down most of the time and the computers are very often out of order. If you happen to be lucky, though, and the computers are up and running, be prepared to work in the winter months to the horrific tunes of the space heaters which come from the times of pre-industrial revolution. Healthy working out at the gym to those air-polluting machines too (the gym equipment is very nice, though).
If you are still interested in trying your luck out at the Lincoln at Tysons, buy a helmet and anything else you can find in the market to sound-proof your apartment - the walls and ceilings are so very thin! Besides, the helmet part may also serve as a protective cushion in case you encounter any spaceships in the forms of metal plates that may accidentally land on you head, not your foot. It should also help with the never ending drilling noise that often comes from the courtyard, as they once again launch their repairs of roofs, stairs or anything else. In sum, if you really would like to live at Tysons Corner, do not kid yourself and go to the Lillian Court, Rotunda or the Fountains of McLean (all of these condo-type communities have high occupant to owner ratio and offer good up-graded units and an excellent service too), because the Lincoln at Tysons is NOT a place to call home!
