Tough call - Car stolen

I lived here for a year and still have mixed feelings about this place. We had a small 2bdr apartment that fit our needs. It featured a standard split room layout and had a smallish kitchen with aging appliances. Some of the features were a little odd. A minor example was location for our TV. The most logical place was to put it in front and below the counter that separates the kitchen from the living room. This location is a little strange, but nothing major. We also had a problem with smell. I would often come home to the smell of curry coming from the apt. below.
I did like the two sliding doors we had (one for the front porch, and one for the "back" porch/stairway). This was great when the wather was nice, because we opened both doors to let the air through, but I questioned the safety factor since anyone could come up the back.
We did have two major negative experiences. The first was due to a drunk resident who took a curve to fast and too wide and hit a parked van in front of our building narrowly missing our car. I don't directly blame the apt, but a few more speed bumps may have helped. The second was that our car was stolen from our spot (again right in front of our building). After contacting the office about the issue that told me [verbatim] that "this has happened quite a few times". This is probably why I wouldn't recommend this complex. I guess it is too accessible to the toll road as a means to flee with a stolen car.
