SUMMARY:
--------
PROS:
-Very close distance to Tysons Galleria and Tysons Corner Mall.
-Very close to the 267 toll road, 495, and 66.
CONS:
-Thin walls means you can hear everything your neighbor is doing.
-No security whatsoever in the underground parking garages. If you have a decent car, *do* expect to have it broken into or possibly stolen. If you choose to park here, leave absolutely nothing in your car, including insurance/registration information, etc. Also, make sure you have full insurance coverage.
WOULD I LIVE HERE AGAIN'
-Absolutely not.

------------
I recently moved from Pennsylvania to Post Tysons Corner for recent employment. When I first moved in, everything seemed okay. My first impressions were that, for the price, these apartments appeared somewhat old and poorly maintained. The latches on two doors in the apartment I lived in do not work properly, and as such, these two doors will not stay closed. In addition, you can hear everything your neighbor is doing. I can hear my neighbor sneeze from inside my bedroom. The cable signal quality from Cox here was terrible for the first 10 months I've lived here, until they finally decided to 'upgrade' their lines. While cable quality should no longer an issue for me or for near-future tenants, I believe that this issue should have been resolved beforehand. Another annoyance, although perhaps an uncommon occurrence, is the number of times they shut the water off. Within the time frame of about two months, they had to shut off the water approximately 5 times to repair water pipes. However, the biggest problem around here is the security in the parking garages... or lack thereof. The only security offered by these 'private' underground parking garages is a little wooden gate, barring outside vehicles from entering. This little bar of ply wood that they call a 'gate' will respond to a key card they give you when you move in. Upon reading the card, the gate will rise to allow your vehicle to drive through. Quite frankly, this 'gate', in my opinion, is a joke. I have woken up in the morning and driven out of the garage to find this bar of ply wood completely broken off on multiple occasions. Resident parking is no more safe than public parking. Seven months after moving in, cars were broken into on both the upper (residential) and lower (public) parking garages. In this attack, windows were broken and GPS units were stolen. The only thing the apartment administration did was to send fliers to every resident informing them to "keep an eye out for suspicious activities." My car at this time was untargeted. No more than a month later, I was at work (my friend drove me, and I did not walk near where my car was that morning) when the leasing office informed me that "things were taken out of my car last night." Okay... so I have a broken window, perhaps my CD's are now gone. Then the police told me the whole story. My wheels and tires, hood, trunk, and parts of the engine were stolen. The entire interior of my car was stripped and is gone. My car was apparently found sitting on brake rotors. A lot of time would have been required to pull off something like this. I fully blame the lack of any security in these parking garages to allow these events to occur. I was completely devastated, as I did love my car dearly. Upon arriving back to the apartment, another flier was attached to every door informing people that GPS units were stolen, "exterior parts" were stolen, and one car was entirely stolen. These thieves must have spent at least two hours destroying and stealing cars. And the lack of security allowed it. Instead of investing in a few cameras to watch at least the residential level garages, these fliers informing you to 'keep an eye out' is all you will receive. There are no security measures in these garages, and the thieves know it. That is why they will target these same garages again in the future. Please learn this lesson from me and what I suffered through. If you love your car, DO NOT MOVE HERE. If you could give less of a crap about your car, then the only advantages of living here are the proximity to malls and highways. The nearest metro station, if you are not driving to it, is a 5-10 minute bus ride away.

Hey man, My car was beside yours when it was broken into. They busted out my passenger side window and stole my GPS and both airbags. I let the leasing office hear about it, but they don't care. They're already getting our money. Their complete apathy is very concerning. Feel free to call me if you want to discuss. My number is (919) 622-5947. Thanks, Matt.
