It is what it is....

I'm a former tenant at Post Tysons Corner, lived there about two years. The property is what it is. I have worked in construction and am very empathetic to the situation. It's a little old (built sometime in the early 90's) but by no means down for the count.

Maintenance: It is maintained perfectly. I'm sure Post would love to replace every A/C unit that stops working or replace all the appliances and have granite counter tops. Why wouldn't they' Business would be good. It's simply not that easy to just find money and address every problem on the property. Post certainly has taken care of the property to the best of their ability in my eyes. I had some A/C problems in my apartment but these things could happen anywhere. You know what doesn't happen everywhere' The service that the resident receives. The maintenance staff works hard and has resolved every issue I have ever had. The maintenance staff didn't build the place, so I can't blame them for that, but they certainly know how to trouble shoot and fix any problems that do arise.

Security: The thing that I find interesting in all of these negative reviews is that I was never guaranteed the safety on the property, or a guarantee that I would not hear my neighbors (it's an apartment! what do you expect') To the person who had their car broken into four times, ever hear the expression "Fool me once, shame on you; Fool me twice, shame on me"' Sounds like you were giving people a reason (leaving valuables visible) to break into your car...don't blame others for your negligence. For anyone that gets any dose of reality on a daily basis know that cars get broken into every day throughout towns across America. Just because there are others that know how to take advantage of people does not mean I'm just going to pass the blame off to someone else. To the best of my knowledge, as per a flier on my door, they have since hired security personnel on the property. ---- happens, I'm sure Post doesn't want this happening either...

Price: I did some shopping around, as you should to, before I settled with Post Tysons Corner and all of the apartment communities in the area are priced around the same. They're competitors! That's the whole point! I've lived in many different apartment communities throughout the US and have learned that you get what you pay for. If a community is offering two months free, there's probably a reason for it. Would you buy eggs at the supermarket that are discounted because they are past their expiration date' Ok...consider buying that printer that just dropped $100 but why mess with your home, temporary or permanent. Tysons Corner/McLean is an expensive area. The price is going to be a little higher but the location, location, location is prime. I used to laugh at the people sitting in traffic getting frustrated that they have moved twelve feet in a half hour while I candidly strolled by on my way home from work.

Staff: Most apartment communities are the same but you can certainly tell which ones go above and beyond. Everyone in the office is cordial, professional and have the tenants best interest in mind. All issues were presented with care and respect. Of course some things are kept in black and white, it's their job. I'm sure the same goes for your job and most people want to keep their jobs so they are going to follow the rules. I'm not going to blame them for that.

Overall, if you are materialistic and looking for marble and stainless you may want to shop around but if you want a great apartment with great maintenance and staff then I would highly recommend Post Tysons Corner. If my job transfers me back to the McLean area, I know exactly where I'm going to live.

I didn't intend this review to be this long but it is what it is....
