It used to be a very nice place to live. But now the current staff treats the tenants with utter contempt, particularly the elderly.

I have lived here 3 years and I can say without hesitation that the management staff here treats tenants with great care. I have never witnessed or experienced any actions or words to any tenant or to myself that the poster of this review states. The poster is obviously upset. They should state specifically WHY they believe they feel us tenants are treated with 'contempt'. Give concrete examples. The staff is the same staff that has been here for my past 3 years and 50% of the time the poster has lived here, so I don't understand why they're referring to 'current' staff - it's the same!
Explain yourself. I do not believe that this person is elderly - seriously, how many 'elderly' people do you know would use a service such as this? If that's the case, the character of the poster should be questioned - sounds like they got spanked for something and are being libelous. Speak for yourself, not for anyone else. This building does have a number of elderly and I've not heard one of them speak ill of the Ashby.

Correction. The management personnel have changed at least twice & I've been here for 3 years now, and, yes, there ARE gaps in the responses to requests made by tenants. Be real, the management and staff do make mistakes and they may not always respond to tenant inquiries like they should. Overall, it's a fine place to live, it's fairly well run - but expensive. An example of issues not adequately addressed, and I have more than one, is repeated concerns I've voiced (and written about to WRIT & Ashby management) regarding the small parking spots in much of the parking lot - this has never been addressed by a simple response or by any action - except to repaint the parking lot lines once a year so they continue to remain too close in half the lot on the Elm St side. The dings in my vehicle doors should be fixed and paid for by the Ashby (or WRIT). I think repsonders above must always "get their way" or they make no inquiries or requests to Ashby management so they have no complaints. Ashby management should be monitoring thsi website & respond (here).

Umm I love how the same person is writing all the negative responses...the management staff has not changed and I have been here for five years...the only change...which happened about a week ago...is one of the employees getting promoted...the prices are the same as the competition in the area...McLean is expensive...cheaper places do exist further out...the closer you are to DC...the pricier it gets...as for the parking spaces...they are the same size as every other parking lot...and their is a garage available for those that choose to pay extra for that amenity...the only problem is some people don't realize that they live in a community...and management cannot cater to their every whim...if you want a response from management...they are open everyday from 9-6...why are you on an anonymous website?

I agree with the writer of this review. The first anonymous responder should have their character questioned as well.

Hey. wow, rough day at the Ashby. Anonymous of 8/31 is clearly upset. I've lived here almost 4 years and have had my own ups and downs with this place and the staff.
