I have had a pretty good experience here. Like other communities, there are some problems with staff and neighbors, but not bad. The residents tend to be pretty quiet. Over the summer, when the college kids come hom, the parking lots can get noisy and they drive through here like they are crazy. There are a fair amount of school aged kids here but they tend to be ok. The maintenance team is very prompt (in my opinion), but they don't necessarily complete all the work required. The staff is....well....it's like tossing a coin. Half of the time you get very nice courteous staff (mostly the men), and the other half of the time you get an evil rude manager (especially the one who just went out on maternity leave). There were lots of problems with the pool for the past couple of summers. College kids drinking and having sex in the pool; neigboring communities using pools, breakins late at night. They tried to resolve the issue with pool passes and an on-site manager, but it only toned the action down...didn't eliminate the drunken college kids from coming and blasting music and having sex in the pool. The grounds are always kept relaly clean, and the lighting is adequate so that you feel safe. The parking is hell during the summer, but ok during rest of the months. My building always has a parking space in front, but many other buildings have parking issues. There are 3-4 police officers that stay on site, so crime isn't bad, although there have been about 5 reported car break-ins over the past 2 years. The apartments are insulated so well that the windows sweat and mold/moldew can be an issue (it was for me for months and they really didn't do much). I think they could improve the workout room - put a damn water fountain in there. The rent is high in comparison to other apartments in 23112 (midlo), so if it was about $150 cheaper, it would be well worth the money. By the way ants/bugs ARE a BIG problem during the summer, but each time I requested them to spray, they came right away. Overall my experience here has been good, and I would renew my lease if I wasn't relocating.
