Update on 8/11/2008

In regards to the microwave issue, the management and maintenance teams acted quickly after I voiced my frustration at the delay on 8/8. The microwave oven issue has been resolved and for that I am grateful.

Of the remaining issues around the TV, Internet and Phone, I do not know when they will be resolved. These issues are not controlled by the local Enclave team but by Rose Development Corporation.

THe internet issue is most important to me as I work in software sales. The Enclave allowed me to no longer subscribe to their internet access and I use Clearwire now. Clearwire is usable but it is still much slower than either a Comcast or FIOS solution. The speed that I receive is roughly 240kb up and 1.0 megabytes down to give you a reference.

I would avoid renting from here as you are very likely to be disappointed. I have been disappointed with them in number of things. However, The proverbial straw that has broken the camel's back for me is that they have not fixed the microwave in my apartment for 31 days and counting.

They do not have high speed internet though the management team will tell you that they do. It is as slow as molasses -- even slower than dialup.

They do not have HD TV at all.

The phone service is poor. I pay for caller ID but that does not work.

If I had known about this site, I would have seen that this is not a good place to rent. Check out the Park at Salisbury as it has great ratings. I actually steered a friend of mine to it and she is very happy there.

This is pretty much the average view on the Enclave here in Midlothian, VA. No direct complaints on maintenance, apartment conditions, staff, etc.. Those are all okay. However, it's the Telephone/Internet/TV situation that is a big concern for people that live here. In this day and age, these things play a big role in people's lifestyles and jobs. Living at the enclave, you are bound to pre 1999 internet speeds (and being over priced) and you are bound to their tv service which doesn't include DVR (digital video recording) or high definition (and still paying a price that you would for service that normally includes these things). I've been here about four months and haven't seen any indication that things will improve.

I am at the sister club ( Trophy Club) and have experienced similar issues with the satellite reception. I am working on a solution but as yet have only rabbit ears for reception and 10 months to go.
