My husband, daughter, and I moved into Hunter's Chase in 2006. We toured a 2 bedroom apartment and decided to enter into a lease agreement with Hunter's Chase. When we moved in, the maintenance man came with us and we performed our move in inspection report. All damaged items were written on a form and signed off on my husband and I, as well as maintenance. The items of concern were never addressed. Shortly after moving in, our dishwasher broke and it took 4 months to finally get it replaced. Then we came home from work one day and our apartment was FILLED with smoke!!! The smoke was coming from the back of the stove, so we removed it from the wall and unplugged it after turning off the main breaker. Maintenance came and replaced the stove, but never did anything about the smoke damage. Then, a year later, Hunter's Chase decided to replace the washer and dryer in the apartment. A few months after the dryer was replaced, we were watching TV in the living room and we heard a loud noise. We went to see what it was and the dryer had caught fire. Once again, maintenance was called and I was without a dryer for a week before it finally got replaced. I asked Hunter's Chase to provide me with the paint to paint the apartment because the smoke damage was not all able to be wiped off of the walls, and they tried to charge me for the paint! The apartment staff seemed to develop a personal vendetta against us and we decided to seek other living conditions. 2 fires were just proof that this place was not safe! After we provided more than sufficient notice to vacate, we took the time to move out of our apartment slowly over an almost 2 month period. We cleaned and removed items as we went and patched nail holes in walls, etc. I even took pictures. After moving out, we received a bill from Hunter's Chase for $1,600.00 worth of "damages" to the apartment. All of the items they were billing for were for items that were notated on our walk thru inspection as well as "smoke damage" from the fires. It has been going on 2 years and I have still not been able to get these people to reverse the bill. My attorney has reviewed all of my documentation and pictures, and we have sent several letters to the property manager as well as AIMCO's corporate office. They have reduced the bill, but will not correct it. I got a call from a collections agency today and have disputed the charges once again... DO NOT under any circumstances rent from these people! They are dishonest and their buildings are not safe! 2 fires in a 2 year period... a cardboard box is safer! We lived in Building 5326-

Just for the record, we are currently in our own home and it is wonderful! This was my first ever apartment experience, and it will definitely be my last!

Thanks for the warning, it is our first year in an apartment also and we have experienced bad things at Trophy club but thankfully not like yours at Hunter Chase. I hope we can find something better at the end of our lease. Thank you for your submission, if more knew about this site and took advantage of it we would have a better place to live. john
