Ghetto housing for luxury prices

Years at this apartment: 2004 - 2006
My husband and I moved in here October of 2004 based solely on the fact that it was within our budget. It was our first apartment and seemed quiet and nice. We never saw a model of the basic garden floorplan, just the souped up townhome, which we werent planning to lease to begin with. The staff was pretty friendly and the neighbors that were out and about seemed friendly as well. We never saw our actual apartment before moving in (which was our FIRST mistake) and when we were finally given the key and directed to our new place, I must say I was deeply disappointed. Upon arriving at our front door there was a notice stating that there had been a bunch of break ins in the area. Welcome Home, sucker! The carpet was practically All Turf (indoor/outdoor) and the "carpet" in the closet had two separate pieces that looked as if they had been cut out and laid right back in place. Apparently no one even bothered to either inspect this junk hole or even fix the damage. Soon enough random strings of carpet were popping out of select places, making bald tracks right down to the backing. Its not properly tacked down, as the carpet bubbled generously when we pushed a 40lb desk across the floor for all of 2 seconds. The door frames looked like they had been chewed by someones dog and then just sloppily painted over. We had a slight roach problem when we first moved in but as of late I havent seen any. The walls are paper thin; you can hear EVERYTHING. And heaven forbid you live on the first floor; everyone walks like circus elephants causing the ceiling fan in your "dining room" to shake and rattle. The floors/celings are the worst in the bedroom, which I discovered soon enough after promptly being woken up at 4:30 AM every morning, 2 hours before my alarm went off, by heavy creaking and banging. The noise is unbelievable. As for the parking, its not too too terrible, though there is a 50/50 chance you will come home and some visitor will be in your spot cos he is too retarded to read the numbers in the spaces. They allow pets, which benefited us as we have a dog and a cat. The policy is 'no aggressive breeds', which they inform you of half heartedly yet I see pit bulls and Rottweilers all over the place This is all fine and dandy as I dont believe in such rules but its obvious Cambridge doesnt enforce them anyway. The grounds are littered with piles of dog poop which forces you to not walk on the grass. My first routine maintenance experience was slightly odd, as I never recieved a notice letting me know that they were coming and I was at work while they were there. They claim they are checking for water leaks, yet my bathtub leaks continously to this day. The bathtub is IMPOSSIBLE to clean; there is no venilation in the bathrooms, inviting mold and mildew to grow at astronomical speeds. I have tried to clean the tub and kill the mildew with every cleaning product imaginable but nothing works. The bathrooms have not been upgraded for the most part, with ugly yellow tile around that no shower curtain will match. The first year wasnt too bad but now that I am on my second its only getting worse. And dont bother informing management about a concern; they arent going to do squat about it. The rent just keeps going up and the caliber of people just keeps plummeting......Needless to say I wont be renewing this year and am looking for somewhere else to live..
**UPDATE**
Well I just received another notice regarding break ins about 2 seconds after my husband and I arrived home from work to find two teenagers hanging out in our breezeway in front of our front door; they seemed high and totally indisposed. I know they dont live in that part of the building, which made me uncomfortable. Point is, anyone with two feet can get in here; there are no security measures taken to prevent crap like this from happening so lease at your own risk!!
