Don't be fooled

This place comes across as being nice. It is centrally located to most of the area, but I imagine hell would be too, so you can see the parallel I'm going with.
First off the positives. The hardwood floors are great if you live upstairs. Otherwise, be prepared for what sounds like a bowling alley hosting a league night for rhinoceros over your head as they creak at the slightest pressure. The building is well constructed and the windows are very energy efficient. Living on the top floor exposed to constant sun, my electric bill in the summer was only 100 bux, and that was with my carbon big foot ways. It started out as a reasonable priced option for working class folks, but then the ghetto monster came to town. Actually, the ghetto property manager came to work and hooked up all her pals. And I mean ALL. No means of support except for your prostitution and drug dealing' Come on in! Twenty illegals trying to cut costs by sharing a 2 bedroom apt' Sure!
Now onto the negatives. There is no consistency. Managers and staff rotate through like game show contestants who lost big in the game of life. And they are unresponsive. I have lost AC in the dead of summer, water leaks, etc., only to be met with a 'what do you want us to do about that'' attitude. There is NO parking to speak of, and I work nights, so it's not like I'm traveling during peak hours. Loud, rowdy, unapologetically ignorant, nasty, people. People selling drugs on the sidewalk in front of my house all night long. Couples having daytime TV reenactments inside and out (Povitch in the park anyone') on the weekends. Random reprobates sitting on the steps smoking weed and getting drunk. They don't drain the pool and clean it, they just put extra bleach in the olive green water left over from last year (I've seen it a few years running now). The check monkeys hanging by the mailbox to pounce on the mailman on the 1st of the month. Bass heavy music thumping through the walls. Cabinet doors that fall off. Laundry facilities that look like a hobo cemetary. Wiring so crappy that sparks fly out of certain outlets and some switches do nothing. Leaks from the ceiling and holes in some units. And rent increases that now make this place no kind of value considering the ------ conditions. And you have to pay for water. In principle, I have no problem with this. BUT! They have no individual meters, so their idea of fair is to divide the total sum by the # of units. So you get to pay for everyone's water.
If you've committed some grevious sin in a past life and are looking for quick payoff, a few years here should clean your karmic slate. And did I mention that while they are negligent in their responsibilities, if anything concerning your account is one day late, they get in your ---- every day' I've seen them do this to my neighbors, one of whom got sent to Irag and was having his family keep the place up.
I've been very lucky that I haven't had a bug or mouse problem. That being said, I'm still putting most of my kitchen stuff in storage for a few weeks before I use them.
Why did I stay if it was so bad you ask' Couldn't afford to buy a house and I'm inherently lazy and I have a lot of crap. It was easier to stay than to sort and pack all my crap. But the time has come and the drop in housing has been a blessing for me. I'm moving to a lovely house far away from this poorly managed crap hole.
