I lived at Chesapeake Bay a couple of years ago and was surprised by some of the comments on this site: I LOVED my experience there! I had a large 2 bedroom with a HUGE balcony and a really large storage unit. Apartments are apartments---you will hear noise 'cause you're so close to neighbors, you know' I did like the fact that Chesapeake had a courtesy officer (police officer) who lived there. He spoke to my noisy neighbor FOR me when they were really loud once. I was glad I didn't have to knock on their door at 3:00am!!!! I was told a lot of people wouldn't call the courtesy officer, but I made use of him when I needed to and the office staff followed up with me and made sure the neighbor knew the rules about noise. I'd much rather live where I receive notices than somewhere the office lets everyone just do whatever they want! I picked Chesapeake because it was so beautiful and well kept... I guess they HAVE to watch to be sure all was well onsite. I never had to see trash walking in/out of my apt. (the groundspeople were awesome). Mtnce. responded in a timely manner and were nice/friendly. The staff will go out of their way to make sure you are treated fairly. If they can't answer something for you, they will direct you to someone who can help you. Parking was not assigned, but I knew that before I moved in because I ASKED BEFOREHAND. I think if parking is that important to you,you should seek an apt. place that has it assigned. Otherwise, deal with it! I sometimes had a park right in front of my apt.,sometimes I had to walk further...but never was I just not able to find a spot. I think that's common anywhere. I moved out, had my carpet cleaned and there were no additional charges. Probably because I made sure my carpet never was in poor condition to start with, that's just how I am. They told me I'd be charged if there were stains that they couldn't get out or damages to the carpet. They even gave a sheet on how and what to clean before I moved out and LISTED THE PRICE I'd be charged if I didn't. How easy is that' I just followed the rules....I was upset when I read the ratings for these apts. because it seemed like some people moved out and decided to bash Chesapeake Bay after the fact. There are alot of apts. there--drive by and see for youself. Of the many people who've moved out, this site has been rated by a few upset folks....SOOOOO what about all of the others' When people are not happy, they make it a point to share it --like on this site. With th few bad comments here, what is missing are the Good reviews from those who enjoyed Chesapeake Bay. People like me. I just wanted to give my input.

It might have been better a couple of years ago, but many of the serivces you mentioned are certainly not available now. We recieved no information about move out fees at all, and the staff has been so rude that they actually had my wife in tears on more than once when she did nothing more than ask them a question. The staff turnover is terrible, and with every other negative thing that has been said, I can say has been very true in our case as well. I am dreading the move out fees I'm sure they will throw at us, but I can't wait to be out of this hell hole, and away from the lady ----- that runs it.
