I cannot wait to move out, OMG this place is the worst place I have ever lived in. Rent is almost $1000/mth so you would think the service from the front desk would be better. I have lived here for about 8 months and since then nothing ! has been fixed ever. The dryer has been broken since I moved here.Which that plus the broken AC causes my dominion pwr bill to be extremely high. The lowest bill I have was $175, it ranges from that to as high as $600 for one mth of dominion pwr. I have showed copies of my bill to front office for credit. 1x they issued a $200 credit to my account , then 3mths later they are now showing a reverse credit saying I owe them that lawyer fees. They are crazy and extremely unorganized. This apartment sucks. I put in a work order for broken Toilet has not been fixed. Every time you go to the front desk there are new girls working there that have no idea of whats going on. Then they say they have to call the Mgr. Who is never in the office. They tell you to come back when she is in because they have meetings at certain days and so she must be there on those days , I have called and came by multiple times when they guarantee the mgr is there and she is never in. She is like some ninja where nobody in the whole office knows her schedule and she will never call you back for anything. The definition of a work order here is a sticky note that is put into the shredder because nothing will ever be done. The only person that was ever somewhat helpful was the only guy that used to work the in the office which I guess he no longer works there because I haven't seen him in mths. I am counting down until i move from this horrible place. Maintenance is a joke. Nothing gets fixed ever. The water bill is rip off and doesn't reflect your actual water usage. Which they do not explain at all prior to moving in. Water bill goes by the size of your apartment, even if you are single person have a 2bd 2bth and probably should only equal up to $19 but no these freaks tally it up by apartment size so you always end up paying at least $45. The so called state of the art gym sucks. Not sure when this ever was state of the art maybe in 1976 or maybe they are comparing it with a gym in a 3rd world country. Nothing in the gym works, the treadmill is broken, the bike is broken, the elliptical is broken, not sure about tanning bed I would never go in that filthy thing. Also the trail around the whole complex yeah its good for walking however none of the freaks at the desk even know how big it is, so you will need to buy a pedometer. I called and was told 3 different measurments, "oh its 1 mile, "oh its 3 miles", "I think its 1/2 mile". The girls who work the front desk dont know anything about the complex the hire/fire so many people its a new chick every time you go in.Oh and when I told them my dryer needed replacement they said they counldnt because they had no key to my apartment. WTF how does the maintenance have no key to each apartment. That was the world record for the dumbest crap I have heard all year. OH and last but not least, there are always going to be 1000 spiders in your apartment at all times. And lots of gross waterbugs outside by the bushes. I have complained and ask maintenance to spray this has never happened in 8 mths. Ok I know this is really long but people should be well informed , if i read these reviews prior i would have NEVER moved in to this piece of crap overpriced apartment. Really unless you would like to live in a broken, spider infested, overpriced, noisy, apartment i see no reason why anyone would be willing to move here , unless you hate yourself. If you do this is the place for you.

Call the city of newport news. They called the city on themselves already so the city has MANY cases against them. You have rights, read the Virginia Landlord Tenant Act and call an attorney. The reason they keep getting away with it is because noone stands up for themselves.

I feel your pain. I have lived here in the Harbours for nine months as well and it has been nothing but nightmares. I have lived in other apartment complexes and have never come across this before. I have noticed as well how there are always new people working the front desk. This place is a joke. when i first moved in in january it was snowing and my heat was broke for a week. I refused to pay until they fixed it. Each time they "tried" they sent someone who obviously did not know what he was doing. We currently have a roach and waterbug problem which ceases to be relived regardless of my constant complaints. spraying one apartment is not going to fix the problem, if they actually cared about residents they would fix it. its discusting i feel so uncomfortable in my own home which i pay almost a grand for each month. I cannot wait to move out of here. also there is mold everywhere which makes me sick. the fan above my stove has been broken since i moved in ten months ago and has not been fixed. just now a maintainence man was banging on my door at 1:30 am because the water heater was leaking downstairs. this place is ridiculously overpriced and poorly organized and managed and maintained. the harbours is the epitome of a half-ass ghetto rigged establishment
