we moved out here like, "Oh, this is going to be so great, the apartment is so cute, we're close to everything, etc. etc." well im about over all that ----... the cops are out here for some reason or another at least twice a week. im not usually home, so they're probably here more than just what i see. also, ive already gotten a phone call from the leasing office about "noise complaints." this lady said that there's been several noise complaints and she's "concerned" because we just moved in. i said "WHAT'!'!" i think i can count on one hand the number of times we've had more than 2 people over, so i highly doubt that it was us they're talking about. she said something about "suspected drug activity" because marked parking spots are being taken, and by the time the tow truck gets there, the car has been moved. this, also, is not us. our friends definitely park in visitor's. my spot has been taken twice, and yeah, it made me mad (seeing as i get home around 12 am from work), but i didnt call the freaking tow company. i left a simple note like "this is an assigned spot." and guess what else' my assigned spot just happens to be under a freaking weeping willow tree. how nice. and its branches are always breaking off and falling on the cars. reserved parking is such a pain in the ass! another thing i hate about this place is how loud people are on the stairs. it shakes the whole building. i can hear the fan in my neighbor's bathroom. talk about ghetto. we have a bright ass street lamp right in front of our apartment that illuminates our entire balcony. you go out to smoke a cigarette and you feel like you're on a stage.
the thing that set me off today was this:
i come home to a piece of paper taped to my door. its dated 4/28/09. Today was 5/16/09. It states that i have an outstanding balance of $8.20 on a "utility bill" from april. i have 10 days from the date above (18 days ago) to pay the bill, or utilities will be disconnected after 72 hours. ok, first off..... what utility is this' my power bill is paid. it was paid on time. and im sure that dominion power would have contacted me if there were any discretion. secondly, if for some crazy reason, i did decide to pay all of my power bill but $8.20, then is it so serious that my power will be cut off in 72 hours' like, really' come on! this is the most rediculous place i have ever lived and i would definitely not recommend it to ANYONE.
please pray for me, and especially my boyfriend, that we are able to hold tight for the next 10 months until this lease is up.

Response from Watermans Crossing Management: First, we appreciate the opportunity for feedback as it helps us improve our customer service and to address any concerns presented in these reviews. There was first a mention of multiple police officers being on the property. Police cars may be seen often as we do have police officers who live at the community. The city also participates in community policing (regularly driving through day & night hours to help deter illegal activity). In response to noise issues- we rely on our residents to inform us of any noise issues present in the community or in their immediate area. For this particular issue, the office had received complaints of noise from a general area, so we called all of the residents in that area and discussed the situation and asked for their assistance in keeping the noise level down and to report any issues directly to the office. Our parking policy states that we provide one assigned parking space per apartment as an added feature. There is also ample visitor spaces provided for residents. Residents have the option to call a local towing company is someone is parked in their space. We have a professional vendor that trims the bushes and trees, as well as the usual lawn care. In the case where a branch is missed, they have been more than helpful in cutting them back. In the spring of 2008, a resident questionnaire was sent out to help us better serve our residents by asking for their feedback. An example of the feedback was this- many residents stated that the property needed more lighting in the parking areas. Because of this survey, we were able to improve the property by installing brighter lights in the parking lot. It is our policy that residents must pay for their own electricity. At move in, residents are expected to provide their dominion power account number to make sure that they have transferred the electricity into their name. If this number is not given, the resident is back billed from our office for the power that the property had to pay while they were living in the apartment. We always value our residents opinions to help us make Watermans Crossing a great place to call home.
