Not a place to live

Years at this apartment: 2005 - 2007

I first moved into the old apartments Dec of 05, as I waited for the new apartments to be finished being built. The apartment wasn't to bad except the refrige handle was broken off and too sharp for my four year old and I to pull on. It took 3 weeks for them to replace it. I had called everyday and they kept telling me the couldn't find another one because it was an older model refridge handle. I suggested that the replace the refridge then, and they said they will do that as a last resort. Finally, someone moved out and they swapped handles. (How lazy). Also when I moved in they had a vacumm and trash in the middle of the floor. It didn't bother me to bad, but the black Kewi stains on the rug throughout the apartment bothered me. It had to be from the last military person who lived, there. I went off and I was impressed that I had brand new carpet the next day, they had to move my furniture around to do so, since I had already start moving in, but it got done.

At last, the knew apartment was ready in April. They day of my move, while I was at the new apartment taking some of my things over, my old apartment door was kicked up. My purse, some jewlery along with my boyfriends Mavado watch was stolen. They showed no sympathy. When My boyfriend and I stopped a office staff on there little golf cart they simply replied there was nothing they can do and that they had aparts to show. It's not like we expected them to replace our things, that's why I had rental insurance and credit card protection. It was their lack of concern that upset me.

That night my family and I stayed in the new apartment. We went to shower and there was no hot water. We waited to the next morning since the office was closed to call management. Well the rude staff member told me just to shower in my old apartment, which just got broken into less than 24hrs prior since I had the keys for another week to there. I told her I would not and explained how foolish of an idea was that. I told her to have Tammy the manager at the time to call me ASAP. Tammy called and said she was off for the weekend and on her way out and could I wait till Monday. I told her while she is on her way out and since maintanence couldn't fix the proble to give me keys to a vacate apartment so my family and I can take warm showers. She huffed and puffed about it and took her time to bring me some keys (2 hrs later) She felt the need to tell me once she got to my new apartment that she was a busy person. Needless to say I had to straighten her out. Not when I am paying $1000 a month. The new place had several problems, from mold on the windows everytime it rain, to the second floor apartment AC drain unproperly secured and leaked into my apartment damaging the whole hall way carpet for 2 months straight. They had to knock down my closet wall, which was connected to my son's wall 4 times!!!! Finally it was fixed and my carpet was replace.

The place was once beautiful, but they have allowed any and everyone to move there and tear down the community. Parking is awful. They have way to many handicap spots and I haven't notice 1 handicap person. Not to say there aren't any, but they do not need all those spots. I had to park 2 buildings down with my 5yr old one night. I move out this Saturday and i can't wait!!! I do not recommend living here at all!!! Also I had to pay another deposit when I switched apartments. You would of thought they would of just transfered the deposit to the knew apartment. I can see having me do another lease for a year, but not another deposit. I finally got my deposit from my old apartment 2 months after being in the new apartment. I probably won't get my current aparment's deposit until July. Plus if I was crazy to renew my lease, the price would be another $52. I have lived places were they went up $25/$35. Never over that.

PS- The best maintence staff member is Jimmy. I didn't find that out until 5 months of living at Waverton. When all others were to lazy or couldn't get the job done, I could call and request him and he would get there immediately and fix the problem. Both my boyfriend and I appreciate him.
