I don't know who would recommend this place but they must not like nice apartments. This place is terrible. Someone was shot right outside my apartment! It's only been 3 weeks and all I want to do is get out of here. Parking is awful I have a pole in my backyard where my parking spot should be. This place was built in the 70's and the floors are the exact same. There is not a bathroom downstairs and that is a huge inconvenience. I didn't think it would bother me but I have to go up and down the stairs all day long. The floors creak all over upstairs too. The painting is awful they just paint over everything including outlets and dirt. The only good thing about the place is space but it doesn't make up for everthing else. The model looked nice but the actual place is awful. Whatever you do DON'T rent this place it's way too much for very little quality.

In regards to the shooting. After researching the crime reports for the neighborhood for the past 6 months, there was no reported shooting. Nor have I ever heard anything about any shootings here. You can verify this info on the norfolk city website.
