I have been living in Mariner's Watch for the past seven months and have not had one problem. Everyone in the management and maintenaice offices have been very kind! I have lived all over tidewater my whole life and this is the best townhome community i have ever lived in, i had a condo a few years ago and i had less square footage and paid more for it, so this i must say is a dream come true! You cannot ask for a better home to stay then Mariner's Watch! I do not know much about what other residents are talking about but i have been there winter, spring, and summer and have not seen any rodents or trash lingering around! These must be the people that r home all day and have nothing better to do! Mariner's Watch is a warm and welcoming place to live with your family, security is around and you always feel safe! So please do not overlook Mariner's Watch because if it was that bad why are residents still living out here?!? The property manager Hope Peoples and her staff are the bomb!

I am glad that you are happy with Mariners Watch but unfortunately I had a bad experience. No I was not sitting home all day with nothing to do, I work a nine to five. You have only been there for 7 months I was there for almost three years and the management was different then. Please do discount my experience just b/c yours is different. Yes my neighbor and I had mice and no the staff were not very helpful at all. And regardless what anyone say the walls are still paper thin. I live right in front of the basketball court so with all the kids that were hanging at the court at least when I lived there it is easy to see how trash could be everywhere. Maybe things have changed a lot since I moved but when I was there I would suggest that place to anyone. Not to mention all the gang activities and meeting they had about it in the clubhouse. So you GET OVER IT b/c you have no clue what went on out there a couple of years ago b/c you were not living there!

I'm puzzled??? Most of the negative responses about this community are from people who have lived there for 2 years or more. I just wonder why anyone who has experienced such negative things would continue to give their hard earned money to a place of problems. I have recently applied and have had the opportunity to speak with many of the residents who live at Mariner (military families who referred me). The most consistent thing I received from them is the walls are thin. Each time I have driven on the property it has been very clean. especially with the large number of families who reside there. Each time I have spoken with office staff they have been helpful and attentive. I met Ms. Hope the manager on my second visit and I could not believe the level of service that she extended to me and my family. It is important for me to know that my family will be attended to when I am deployed. Some things are just not the managements job alone. Residents should take ownership of where they live too. Sometimes it is not that easy to get people on the same page of understanding.

We are a military family, moved in here August 2009. A few days after moving in, we noticed roaches in the bathrooms and den area. notified management and they immediately sent an exterminator. We put down combat and plugged in those ultrasound things and by mid-september the problem was cleared up. I was not happy to move into a place with bugs, but the prompt service to get rid of them made me feel better. We also had issues with the carpets coming up in doorways... they fixed that promptly as well. These buildings were built in the 70's, so naturally there are going to be issues. The important thing is that the management addresses the issues right away. Yes, the walls are thin. We had to tell 1 neighbor several times to stop blasting his music so loud that my pictures on the wall would shake. That finally stopped a few months ago. It's the price you pay for renting. What do you want for the price they charge to live here? I think it's fair and resonable. The people here overall are neighborly. The kids are courteous and play nicely together and overall, no complaints. I would definitely recommend Mariner's Watch to other people. Aside from that... I've had no issues with the staff. Maybe a few years ago it was bad, can't say cause I wasn't here... but it is possible that staff changed over and they improved quality. Life isn't going to be perfect... so take the good with the bad or move. Go buy a house, you'd have the same issues, only difference would be that they'd be YOUR issues, and you wouldn't be able to pass blame on someone else!

I live here at Mariners Watch, and there is a big difference in the office staff since Mrs. Hope left, that nasty --- white mamanger Ms. Cristy is awful, you try to go in and speak to her and she acts like she is better than aaprtment renters, I was in there one day and she did not know I was out there and started cursing loud to katrina, what in the world.
