I would not recommend this high rise to anyone.
First off, it s in Portsmouth. Second, Tunnels are a pain. Commutes to the Naval Base were a nightmare.
THEY ARE WAY OVERPRICED!!!!!. It was a mortgage payment for not that great of a view (especially for being on the 14th Floor)
Parking was a nightmare for any visitors. The parking situation is very inconvenient for any inhabitant or guest, period.
Old Town Portsmouth was within stumbling distance, but that works both ways, people you don t want in you neighborhood stubble into that area as well. I saw drugs deals, three shootings, and I swear a bullet whizzed by my face in the middle of the afternoon one day. My car was broken into in the so called safe covered parking area. I felt like the only safe place was inside my house, a prisoner in my own home!
Also, boat horns and helicopters buzzed by constantly. It would shake the house! The staffs were inept, and although I felt safe from the outside, I had some weird neighbors.
Shopping areas around the area are nothing short of ghetto-fabulous and they apparently prefer it that way around here. You get the idea yet' This place, while in it is not ghetto, the surrounding area is.
DO NOT MOVE HERE! THERE ARE NO NICE AREAS OF PORTSMOUTH, ITS ALL GHETTO, EVEN HERE.
Save your money and move elsewhere. Horrible commutes, too many crooks, and way too many crimes. If you are Caucasian, you are definitely the minority. It s a pity, the building is probably the only nice thing in this city

I am a resident of the building and you must have had a very different experience than myself and many of my friends both in the building and in the neighborhood. I find the area charming and quaint and honestly the people in the building part of what feels like a real community. I guess not everyone fits in everywhere. Good luck to you.

I love in this building, and it is not in a ghetto area. Olde Towne Portsmouth is one of the most beautiful neighborhoods around. Most of Portsmouth is unattractive and ghetto, but Olde Towne is not one. "Caucasian a minority"? Not in this neighborhood. I guess you didn't get out much, or are only judging this neighborhood on other parts of Portsmouth. Also, there are some very nice independent shops and restaurants that are very charming. Since when did non corporate automatically mean "ghetto"? It's unfortunate that you were too close minded to enjoy this place.
I have lived here for almost a year and I am still in love with it. The neighborhood has tons of charm. Dog parks. Friendly people. Beautiful old homes filled with historical charm.
