I lived at the Myrtles for the last 8 months and moved out because I needed more space for less $$. Is is a bit pricey, but parking is easy, there's a pool, a gym, and a great clubhouse. It's new and prewired for cable/internet unlike some of the old cheap places. So while I say it's pricey, it's still definitely reasonable.

I never once felt unsafe. Portsmouth is ghetto in parts, but the Olde Towne area is nice, and the Park View area is improving. The office staff was great, never had a problem, same goes for maintenance. Yeah, you can hear other people occasionally if they are being really loud, and you can hear some dog barks in the hall, but what apartment can really prevent this' compared to my college apartments, these were very quiet!

The grounds were beautiful and well landscaped. There's a good mix of demographics and age. Mostly Navy people as it's right next to the hospital. It's a well built complex and feels new. Any problems I had with plumbing/dishwasher/appliances were fixed promptly.
