I was shown a very clean and well kept apartment in the front of the complex, however, the apartment I was put in was very nasty with undesirable room mates who hosted loud parties all night. All night parties are frequent at this complex. Dont live here unless you want to be kept awake all night.

Also, management will send you to really bad apartment locations if you tell them that you are looking for something small such as a one BR apartment so that you will come back to them. They will then present themselves as being a reputable business but you will soon find out after you sign a lease that their professionalism vanishes. I would advise anyone considering Hunter's Ridge Apartments to not be easily coerced into

signing any sort of a lease with this bunch of people. They are only in it for the money, the management parties WITH the residents by all indication and they will lie to you if they think they are going to get a lease out of it. Also, BEWARE of information given to you about any roommates you will be getting. They like to tell you that people have lived there in excess of 3 years and have not presented a problem. Upon checking with my roommate, I found out that she had only lived there for one year and quite obviously the whole building and surrounding buildings caused problems.

They do not care what happens or who does what as long as they get their money. Complaints are not taken seriously or handled as they should be as outlined in the lease you sign. Think before you rent this place. It's not good at all.

Check with the Radford City Police if you want the truch about this place or any other place in Radford. They were very helpful and as a result, I have a better place to live.

Also, another note on management--the people that I spoke with during my lease signing process appeared to be under the age of 25. They were not informed enough about leasing and the processes therin to even do a somewhat decent job of answering questions, documentation etc. They are lacking in leasing skills. I assume that the higher management in the Blacksburg office is also a mirror of what goes on in the Radford office. Attempts to speak to higher management at the B'Burg office would indicate so.

Bottom line, Hunter's Ridge will do everything they possibly can to mislead you into signing a lease. They will provide you with false information regarding questions you might ask them. For instance, I specifically asked them about noise and parties. They told me that there was not a problem with this at their complex. That's a lie. This is the biggest party complex i've seen this side of Radford. I had at least 20 people in and out of my apartment at free will the first night I stayed there. My roommate did not know what the definition or use of a door lock was.
There was excessive drinking beyond any normal level as well as other things that took place that management should have been aware of, however, they allowed me to sign a lease, knowing that they had misinformed me. DO NOT TRUST MANAGEMENT, the comments that I have seen which are posted on this site about Hunter's Ridge are as close to 100% true as I think you could ever hope to be. I was skeptical of this site before I moved in, now im not. Trust me on this one. Just FYI, I am not a student. I am a working adult. Also, another comment on Hunter's Ridge--This place probably keeps the liquer store in business here in Radford and they would probably notice a drop in sales if not for Hunter's Ridge.

NOTE: If you would like to see photographs taken in this dumpster, please refer to http://photos.yahoo.com/ blackleatherrose / (remove spacing)

If you are currently in a lease and were falsely inticed into signing one under false pretenses, PLEASE do not hesitate to contact the State Corporation Commission and complain about it. Also, the department of consumer affairs will help you as well. Someone needs to shut this bunch down!

Look at the other 30 odd comments about this place. They are all the same and it spells DUMP! I would wager to say that management may have changed and improved since this comment was written. If they would get rid of those two MORONS (Jackie Lowery and Candee Layne) they have running the place, it'd probably be a lot better. Maybe they even got a new courtesy officer as well. That was much needed. The old one was at all the parties with the tenants getting boozed up just like they were; all flopped out on the picnic tables outside for half the night. As for noise, it was UNREAL at the time this comment was written. The police would agree with that statement. Just give them a call and ask them about Hunter's Ridge. They may also tell you that the management has in the past refused to press charges against abusive individuals to force them to repair damages SIMPLY TO KEEP THEIR NAME OFF THE POLICE WORK! They are uncooperative with law enforcement. Instead, they made the abused tenant pay for damages and would not participate in pressing charges. I was shown what I would consider a "model apartment" and then once a lease was signed, I was placed in a completely different apartment that was a mess. I would challenge you to go to the link provided in my post and look at the horrid mess this place was. It's not too pretty. I also made it VERY clear that I was not interested in drinking or parties or those who participated in that sort of lifestyle prior to signing a lease as did my husband. I see 34 comments total on this place, 6 of these comments say it's nice, the other 28 say it's a dump....

It's so funny how childish the management is, no one except the management or someone with a similar stake in the business would get so worked up about a negative review that they would call a reviewer a moron or call it slander!

I lived in Hunters Ridge last year and I had a new apartment and it was very nice, but maintence and management were horrible and there was an excessive amount of partying. The managment office told my girlfriend her lease was not complete until she had her guarantors sheet signed and she was not liable for any charges for the next year unless it was signed. So she went in person and talked to managment and was told the same thing. They even said "You need to get that sheet signed or someone else will take over your spot in your apartment". My girlfriend calls them back a month later and tells them she is not coming back and she is moving somewhere else, the management responded my saying she has already signed the lease and that means she has to pay the rent for the next year. when my girlfriend asked why they told her otherwise they commented by saying " The person who told you this is no longer working here". We found that funny because the person who told us that was in the office working the next day. Overall Hunters Ridge was a good experience for me, but watch out because managment will lie about anything to get you to sign a lease.....now my girlfriend has to pay $325 a month in her new place and $255 a month for hunters ridge because they lied to her. If they would have told her the truth and explained how everything worked she would have just stayed in Hunters Ridge, but now she is working 3 jobs and going to school full time because of Hunters Ridge giving incorrect information out!!!!!!!!!!
