Pretty much same as below. Moved to an apartment sans fireplace and signed lease in April 2009 for $1585.

Orig. 2 bed/2 bath loft for $1730 up to $1795 on lease renewal in Oct 2008
Ok, so returning to add more information.
I still live in a loft, but I've moved to a two bedroom version. My new building is just as quiet as the last one. This loft gets morning sunlight, and it helps to heat the unit during the winter. Also, being on the inside of the building, there are more shared walls and that assists with the heat as well. Having a loft that does not get afternoon light helps keep it cooler in the summer as well. I'm still using the loft as an extra bedroom (in this case a 3rd bed). Also, if you have a gas fireplace, have maintenance turn off the gas during the summer to save on both your gas and cooling bills.
Since moving into this unit, I've had several instances to call maintenance. Our dishwasher broke down and they initially attempted to repair it. However they ended up having to replace it and that was probably the worst maintenance experience we had. It took several days to get a new unit and when they removed the old one the staff forgot to tell us that one side of our kitchen sink couldn't be used since it had an open end that used to go to the dishwasher. Long story short, we were sans disposal and dishwasher two days.
The pool is a bit cold, but during June and July its pretty usable. It just needs a few 90 degree days to get warm. The cardio room was just upgraded with two nicer treadmills. Also, there are paddle boats on the pond during the summer months, but geese tend to congregate around the pier. It gets very messy from their droppings, and although the staff does attempt to keep it clean it is still rather nasty. I tend to avoid both the boats and the peir due to it.
The towing company used by the complex is very aggressive. Make sure that overnight guests always get a visitor's parking pass and park in a visitor's spot. Make sure your resident's parking pass is always in whatever vehicle you're using. One slip and your car will be gone the next morning. If you come home too late to get a pass from the office you're better off parking outside of the gates in the front of the complex.

Orig. 1 bed/1 bath loft for $1575
I've only lived in this community for several months, but so far it hasn't been that bad. It is extremely quiet in my unit (I have a top floor loft one bedroom) and I have yet to hear anything outside the occasional door shutting. Going back to the loft bit, when we had the cold spell (teens and below) I did have an issue keeping the apartment warmer than 65 degrees with the thermostat set to 70. I ended up borrowing a pair of kerosene heaters to bring it up to 70. Other than this heating issue, I love having the loft. I'm using it as a two bedroom with my daughter in the master bed and myself in the loft area. The loft is large enough for a queen bed and mid-sized dresser. There is also a small closet up there for clothing/misc storage too.
I've had three instances to call maintenance so far and every time they've worked my issues quickly and efficiently. I've used both the online submission system, and going directly to the office, and the method by which I reported the problem didn't seem to affect the amount of time it took them to respond.
The grounds are pretty well maintained and they did a good job of salting and clearing the sidewalks during February's snow/ice debacle. There was an issue when the plows came through and piled the snow behind where all the cars parked - I saw several stuck on the plowed snow - but I'm of the opinion that those residents should have dug themselves out of their parking spaces prior to trying to drive over the piled snow. There is only one compactor (at the entrance to the community) which could be an annoyance for those living further into the community. I've seen quite a few residents drive through with their trash either on the trunk or hood of their car. (I tend to add that as part of my criteria for a good apartment - how far I have to go to throw away my trash.)
I frequently get packages delivered and the office staff has always been friendly, sociable, and helpful. The business center doesn't ever seem to be all that busy. They have two separate exercise rooms - one for weightlifting/strength training and another for cardio. I have yet to use the pool, but I'm looking forward to it during the summer months. The child play area is small - I'd suggest going to the one close to Dulles Town Centre to really get the smiles out of your kid. The gazebo, pond, and path around the pond are nice for walks. I look forward to using the path more often as it gets warmer. Also, I heard mention somewhere that there are paddleboats for use on the pond during the summer. I'll re-edit this review when that is confirmed.'
I like being across the street from Trader Joe's. It makes for fast and convenient restocking of the pantries. There are also several other groceries fairly close by to include a Safeway and Bloom. Reston Town Center and all it offers is (in my not so humble opinion) in walking distance (during the warmer months).
I know people have complained about the rent, but compared to other complexes in the area (that aren't rent controlled and require you to make UNDER a certain amount to live there) its fairly average. It could be worse - you could be looking at the prices over at the Metropolitan of Reston. For a comparable apartment you're looking at a price tag of 1800 - 2200$.

I would agree with everything said here.
I found the loft comment interesting. I'm in a loft as well, and even running the heat 24-7 it's impossible to get the place above 65-70 degrees. Heater is underpowered for living room w/ a 25 foot ceiling.

A note: they've just instituted a new policy for visitor spots. They used to allow a car one overnight parked in a visitor spot. Now all cars MUST have a paper tag issued from the front office (which is open only from 9am-6pm), AND they're charging 5$ a night.
