Well, I can agree somewhat with the person who responded on 7/23/2003. Parking is a hassle everywhere in the community, however, when a community was built in 1970 when most ppl used public transportation or had one car per apt/family I am sure parking was fine. Now that rent is more expensive and ppl have roommates, some with more cars, parking becomes and issue. But according to the lease all leaseholders are allowed a permit. Maybe we can come up with some alternate ideas for the office, I know all input helps. My company usually parks on North Shore Drive.

Well, concrete only goes so far, my neighbor below me bought surround and I thought I had a space ship landing one night, but I spoke with him and things seem to be alright.

I guess even owning your own home can be bothersome, I have talked to several ppl building and they seem to have nightmares also, just in a different way.

If ppl are outside being loud, you should say something, I see enough correspondence with us that a small note regarding noise could probably be stuck in there.

Bugs, I live on the top floor and still get bugs, big ones too! I think by the time they crawl way up there, they should die, but they don't. I have a great flyswatter.

Pets are great, if ppl take care of them. I know I have walked several dogs for ppl while they are on vacat., I have even fed my neighbors cat. I think ppl with dogs, if they can't walk them during the day, should hire a petwalker, they are in the business to do what you want, when you want it.

I know the utility thing is also changing, I guess I would rather pay a flat fee, so I know what I am paying every month for budgeting reasons. I have lived other places and getting surprise bills for utilities is no fun!

I would be happy if they added extra parking somewhere, maybe covered parking for us who would like a little cover for our vehicles, we do have a lot of trees which produce alot of pollen and sap. I would also like a small fitness center, that would be nice if the pool doesn't reopen.

Overall for being 33 years old, Charter Oak has been a nice place to live. Everyone I have met seems friendly.

I know it is hard living in an apartment, but we only can try to live together harmoniously. I know I would love to have a house with a wrap around porch and about 4 acres, so I didn't have to hear my neighbor, but even on the top floor I hear all kinds of things, even stuff in the parking lot and across the street. I live near the road, and ppl screaching by at all speeds is also annoying, I think the area police should patrol and issue tickets more often.

Overall, I think Reston and Charter Oak are great places to live.
