It's 8:00am on a Saturday morning. For an hour I've been listening to ladders scrape along the side of the building as some barely visible access door is painted from blue to beige. The thought that somebody was trying to break into apartments through the patio door was not a nice way to be awoken after a stressful week of work. The building is SUPPOSED to have quiet hours from 11pm to 9am but I guess that doesn't apply to the management.
I've lived here since 99 and have seen progressively worse/more arrogant management. They now have extra waivers with the lease relieving them of responsibility for security problems. They also no longer issue maintenance flyers but instead expect you to look at the monthly calender which has, counting today's incident, been wrong at least twice in terms of omissions. (not that I would have been able to program myself, during sleep, to ignore the incredibly loud sounds of ladders hitting against iron railings)
Unfortunately it's still basically a nice place to live - generally quiet compared to most apartment complexes because of it's location at the end of a street in one of the nicer sections of Reston. I just don't know how much longer I can stand the management...
