I lived in Carter Lake Apartments in 2005. The rent was low for the area. It was very dog-friendly. The staff was very responsive. For me the best feature was access to all the wooded trails in the adjacent park.

There is a slightly seedy area nearby, but I never felt unsafe. I never heard of any crime at carter lake except for a car being stolen that the owner had left unlocked and running. I could hear my neighbors fighting and loud music on weekend nights, but no worse than any other apartment.
