I would like to know why the management team at Carter Lake. Don't feel the need to let people know that our Apartments are going to be turned into condos and put up for sale. I have lived here for Three years. It came time to renew our lease. mine and my husband's, and they tell us they are no longer excepting year leases and that our rental will now be month to month. I ask them why' And they have no comment literally no comment other than nothing is going to happen for at least a year. That's it.

I ask my neighbor about it and she says that she herd something about a change to condos, and that everyone still here will get a good deal on the purchase price. So I go on the net, and sure enough in the Post it says carter lake to be sold to Comstock . I look up the company name and yes they made the deal over 9 months ago!!!

A month later the management sends us letters saying that the apartments are now owned by Comstock . But the management team will stay. Wonderful. yet they still have not told anyone, not even mentioned a word about condos and the fact that everyone not wanting to buy will have to find another place to stay. How nice.

I have lived here 3 years the 'apartments' are OK, and I love the woods out back. No bugs, neighbors are friendly. The plumbing sucks though, always leaking, faucets don't know whether they want to be cold or hot. Garbage is always full. but nothing you cant live with. I always thought the management team very professional, and caring. Now I don't know. Maybe it is the previous owners to blame or the current. who knows. Is this even legal' I guess it is sense know one else is complaining.

I've only lived here since late September 2005. It was my first place in the DC area after having been in the Air Force for a number of years. Having come from an area in California were the nicer homes were well out of the pay range of an enlisted guy, this place is great. The price, from what I've seen, couldn't be beat either and the woods are wonderful. I'm probably going to miss the woods the most when I move.
Because I was on a 3 month lease, I didn't find out something was up until the end of December. But because I said I wanted to change to a 6 month lease, they DID lower my rent for that month to month lease, so it's hard for me to be too angry, at least with them. I should have said 12 months.
Anyway, I am saddened by having to move. I really liked this place despite the crappy plumbing and my air conditioning magically not working this Memorial Day weekend. I have had some bugs being as that I'm on the ground floor. Mostly moths, but there have been a few other millipedes and TONS of Ladybugs.

Haha, not that you'll need our reviews anymore anyway, nobody is going to be renting this property for a long long time.
