Ok, I was going to be optimistic because I moved here with intentions of starting a new life in a wonderful place, and chose COLVIN WOODS as a platform. HA! I'll start here by saying I've experienced ALL of the complaints listed here, and Ive only been here for 4 months. It alll began with their advertising scheme, um TRAP!
They advertised with a picture of the facade of ONE building that they improved ... Looked contemporary & modern (except for the other six buidling that they are truly renting!) Move to Colvin Woods and receive two months rent for free. hmmm NOT! Can you say PRO_RATED ! Of course you can, and any intelligent person would figure that out quickly, however, the FREE part is thrown in your face anytime there is an issue.
At signing, we were told if you sign for two years the 'security deposit' was waived (except the $250.00 ADMIN FEE'S') To good to be true '' Of course. Signed for two years ... BIG MISTAKE ! Two weeks later we were being harrassed that we never paid a security deposit and what makes us think that we didn't have to pay a deposit' It probably said something on the lease, inside the 20 'addendums' that we had to sign .. OH WAIT .. The LEASE that I STILL havent received a copy of after four months. Our car was towed within three hours of being here, followed with a big SO WHAT! $150.00 Bucks... Dog crap' Stepped in alot! Can't grill on your deck, The dryer that someone complained costs 2.80 needs to be run three times to dry clothing, so you can triple that for one load, if your lucky enough to find an open one that someone hasn't left laundry in for three days or pissed in ! The smell of someones elses dinner !' I live next to -------, that's all I'll say. Hot shower in the morning HAHAHA! Not till after ten. In all fairness, it's fixed now .. four months later. The person with the cable issues ...lol The office told me to have them install additional .. not a chance. They wouldnt even screw the damn cable in the back of the tv.
The kitchen is brand new YES IT IS !!! With the CHEAPEST appliances they could get their hands on .. trust me, used to remodel homes. lol. And don't expect to have any help in there while your cooking dinner ... yeah its THAT small.Im an Executive Chef by trade...Id rather eat out. Speaking of small, ya better unroll your toilet paper BEFORE ya sit down. My vent fell out of the ceiling of my 'newly remodeled' apartment. Hmm We were forced to sign an addendum making US responsible for any mold ... COMN FIX YOUR FREAKING APARTMENTS. EVERYTHING is 'carpeted' leave your shoes in the hall so you dont lose your deposit that they waived. DON'T use a hairdryer or you'll be resetting your alarm clocks everyday.
Ok enough ... I'll leave you with this ... Moved in on the 7th, pay rent on the 5th of the following month and ya got 5 day to get the F*CK out ... Welcome to Colvin Woods, Reston, Virginia .. HA! OH .. and if you JaC*As*es read this, I want a copy of my lease BEFORE you add any other Addumbdumbs.

what I recommend is that ALL the current and prior tenants get together to file a joint class action lawsuit against Colvin Woods...Combined we should be able to at least make a point...and maybe even get reimbursed for our combined pain!!!
